Pawn Inc. — Local services in Oceanside

Today I was searching for two Lithium Cell batteries in Oceanside and was told by the local Verizon store that no one in the downtown area had them and that I should just buy them from Amazon. I had already gone to four stores and was getting pretty desperate as I needed them for my lap top keyboard and had a report due in two days. As I was leaving the Verizon Store, I noticed right next to it was Coast Jewelry, and I decided to at least give it a shot. When I told them what I needed, the manager looked around in his back storage area and after looking around for about five minutes, he brought a small box of batteries and found two unopened boxes of the batteries I needed. While I was waiting for him, I noticed that there was a nice selection of pre owned fishing rods and while i was looking at them the manager asked if I was a fisherman and I replied, “ Yes, and I have a friend visiting here this week who wants to fish from the pier.” He said, “ I am going to make you a deal that will make you happy. I will sell you the rod, the reel, the sinker, and a nice fishing lure that is already rigged out on the rod for $10 and I will let you have the batteries for $2.50 each.”

On July 17th, my family and I were on vacation in Oceanside, CA. On one of our outings were decided to walk into a pawnshop just to check it out as we never go into pawn shops. I must say that we really were happy that we did. I saw a lot of very interesting items, that definitely seemed very fair priced, and we met Ritchie the shop manager. He was very friendly and informative and we all enjoyed talking to him. While there my daughter, Jessica, who is a singer in a band called Arcanua, saw a tambourine that she really liked. Since it was her birthday, I told her that I would purchase it for her. When I went to purchase it, Ritchie who had heard that it was her birthday, refused to let me pay and insisted that it was a gift for my daughter from his pawnshop. We were blown away by this. Very impressive to see that there are still really great people in this world! We will for sure head back to Coast Jewelry and More next time that we are in the area.

I was in and spoke with an owner Matt about a Roland Gr-55 guitar synthesizer. I asked what he wanted for it. He said it’s been there a long time, make an offer, and before I mentioned anything he said $100. I even called the next day and asked about a missing piece and again was clear what I was asking about. Today I went in and talked to another fellow, he remembered Matt making that deal. Then Matt gets on a call and claims he thought it was a rack mounted item, nothing even remotely like a guitar synthesizer, a reverb and a midi something, and won’t honor the deal. You don’t know what you’re selling, not good. You saw I was interested and enthusiastic so let’s play a game and pretend we don’t know what we’re doing and in that don’t honor what we say.
