Allergic reaction due to incompetence: Regular at the 12th street Dutch, yesterday 3/29/24 I ordered a blended oat milk islander (NO dairy, very clear and asked multiple times to ensure no dairy)
I am a nursing mom to a little 6 month old boy who has tested positive for severe milk allergy. (ALLERGY not intolerance, as in he will get hives and stop breathing) he does not have an epi pen as his pediatrician and allergist won’t prescribe it yet because of age, Working on that now, but shouldn’t have even needed it if order was made right.(Edit: epi pen required 30 lbs or more. My 6 month old is definitely not that heavy.)
Note: the only other food I had was a bagel with soy butter which i eat all the time, and I have had oat milk in coffee at other places, and he has tested negative for oat allergy.
Did confirm with Dutch corporate that the order was placed as supposed to be oat milk.
Anyway, my son had a severe reaction and we had to take him to a pediatric urgent care (he was breathing, but was vomiting and had whole body hives) after nursing.
I only drank 1/4 of this coffee, if I had drank any more of it my son could have died. Never buying coffee at the 12th street location again, and if you are allergic to anything you should watch them make it. Clearly this was made with cow milk, and the people here need to understand that substitutions are a matter of life and death at times, not just a personal preference that doesn’t matter if you make a mistake. I don’t care if it was accidental or not, this could have killed my son, so train better and NEVER do this again. It doesn’t take much to slow down and read that you have the right milk. (Previous barista at other branded coffee)
Edit: I recommend Java Express in clearfield. ALWAYS amazing and even recommended a dairy free whip cream once hearing I could not have cows milk. They have more flavor options and...
Read moreI visited the 12th street location on July 6th there was a huge line and no runners I waited about 10 min before someone finally came out to take orders. I ordered my drink, I received my drink it was messed up I told the person he said o the strawberries sank to the bottom, yeah I don’t think so. I asked him to actually add the strawberries he took the cup from me after it was in my hand and put it next someone’s drink instead of remaking it like they are suppose to do. The other kid dropped a bottle of flavor on the floor, the guy who was helping me just picked it up and put it back on the shelf. Health code violation they are suppose to clean them off if they touch the floor or throw them away, and he proceeded to still make drinks and touch peoples cups after picking the bottle up off the dirty sticky floor. My wait time at this place was 19 minutes. I use to come here a lot but they always mess up our drinks and when you tell them they act like it’s your fault. I’m the one spending money here make it right and treat your...
Read moreI normally love Dutch Bros, but this visit was a disappointment. I ordered a specific coffee drink that I know well, and both my friend and I were given the wrong drinks. When we let the team know and asked for them to be remade, we were met with attitude, not professionalism. The staff were snobby, made snide remarks to each other, and lacked the basic courtesy you expect in customer service.
I watched through the window and saw that instead of remaking my drink like I asked, they just added one ingredient to change the color, like that would fool me. It still didn’t taste right at all. My friend also ended up with a drink she never orders.
This visit felt careless and dismissive, and I left frustrated and honestly pretty disappointed. Everyone has off days, but customer service should never...
