My fiance has been eyeballing this place for years and we finally had an opportunity to come here. My first initial thought was it looked closed (from the outside) despite the Open sign (so I understand the complaints about the ambiance), however once we got in it was nice and bustling. We were seated and attended to right away. The food was very fresh and the whole place very clean. We tried the egg rolls which were very different from traditional, kinda like a fusion egg rolls with fry bread, but very tasty! We ordered drinks, which the waitress was AWESOME at refilling, something I've noticed servers in UT in general really suck at, so that helped enhance the dinner as well.
I get what people are saying about the variety of veg, noodles, & sauces offered for the BBQ itself, however I found them to be enough for me and tasty, and I appreciate they cleaned the grill for me when I announced I have food allergies. Our food was cooked super fast and Just right (we tipped a few bucks). Also, they have a tasty spicy sauce available at your table to give you that extra kick in flavor you might want.
When it was time to leave we were stuffed, but the waitress told us we could take a bowl to go, and since we both had one modest size bowl each we thought that was nice of them to offer. I have to say the leftovers did not last long!
As for the price, yes, it's on the higher side for a buffet, but not ridiculous when compared to the majority of buffets out there, and while the variety might be lacking comparatively, I rather a place edit what they have to provide quality and freshness, and this is what Lee's has done masterfully. This is one of the few buffets I've been too where I don't have to worry if the food is fresh, or feel like I'll be sick from it. The food quality at Lee's was certainly high end for a buffet.
We enjoyed everything about this buffet and even bought a shirt we were so happy, something we normally do not do. I can see why Lee's has been around for generations and hopefully we'll make it a new tradition...
Read moreUpdated Review: Lee's Mongolian's new catch line or slogan is "Eat like a warrior". But in reality, it should be "Bend over and take it like a warrior" with such exorbitant pricing.
Since posting my review back in 2018, I have only returned to Lee's a small handful of times, because of their price increases. I used to frequently Lee's at least one a month. Now it is more like once or twice a year. Fast-forward to today: Lee's has increased their prices $4 more dollars to $26 per person. With tax and a modest tip, you're into them $33 for a single adult buffet meal, without a drink or any other items from the menu. When it was $22, I could justify spending that kind of money every once in a blue moon, because I had to satisfy my craving for Lee's Mongolian. But now, there's just no way I can justify that price in my mind. Which is sad, because I really liked going there. I don't see myself returning at all at this point. I think the owners are getting close to retiring, and don't want to break their backs making a little on a lot of customers - and instead will make a LOT on just a few. And at the point that customer stopped coming all together, because the prices are too high, they will just closed their doors, and coast into retirement. Goodbye Lee's, it was good while it lasted. I already miss you, and the good old days of when you had economical prices. I won't mourn your closing in the near future, because I already have in my heart.
Original Review 2018: Good food, but too pricey for what it is. I used to eat here regularly. But about 4 or 5 years ago they started to regularly up their prices. Now, I am lucky to get there once a year. Others have taken note too. It used to always be busy. Now you can go anytime, even busy dining hours, and get seated immediately. Instead of sending out glossy full-page advertisements, they should focus on being more competitively priced. For as much as they charge, a lot of other nicer restaurants are now an option, at that same...
Read moreWe've been loyal customers for 30 years, but sorry to say that we will not be eating here again. We came in for dinner, had a good meal and a great server. The problem arose when we went to pay. We had said that we would be paying separately, which we always do without issue, but the ticket came with all 4 meals combined. We went up to the register to pay, and I paid for two meals with cash. We then wanted to pat for the next meal with my daughters credit card. The cashier mistakenly charged the whole remaining balance and didn't know how to fix it so asked the owner, Lee himself, for assistance. He was very rude and said that we shouldn't be coming in there during rush and causing problems. He proceeded to ask the cashier twice if we had really paid cash for two meals. That was insulting enough when I was standing there still holding the change from the $100 bill in my hand. I told himnever-ending, and we would just settle the charge amongst ourselves if it was that big of a problem. He continued to yell for over 10 minutes about how he's the owner and he's been running this business forever and on and on. We just wanted to pay our bill and get out. It was humiliating and embarrassing to be yelled at in front of the whole restaurant for so long. He refused to listen to the fact that we had asked both when we were seated and when we received the ticket that we would be paying separately. I'm sorry for anyone that had to sit and listen to his tirade for long. We were truly just trying to...
