When I booked my ticket, the confirmation emails I received said 6pm for the show.
When I was heading to the venue, I noticed that the digital ticket itself said 5pm. This had me worried I had missed the show. Neither the ticket nor the email said when the doors opened or when the show started, they just had two different times listed.
So I asked a security person when the show started, and she said “well it’s 6pm and nothings started so you haven’t missed anything.” Good point.
However, I searched and searched ahead of time online to see if there were any openers for the band I was going to see, and I couldn’t find one. Shortly after I got there (around 6:15), two openers played. The band I was there to see didn’t start playing until well after 8:30pm.
I didn’t mind seeing the openers, but rushing over to the amphitheater and then waiting around was a pain. It felt like a ploy to sell snacks and drinks, especially since the venue doesn’t allow re-entry. So they won’t tell you when the show starts, but once you go in, you can’t leave. That’s messed up.
In addition to that complaint, I noticed a sliding scale of ticket prices when booking online. For those of you buying tickets for this venue: JUST PAY THE MINIMUM TICKET PRICE. Having never been to this venue, I decided to pay $25 for two tickets instead of the $7 minimum price, thinking that when I got to the venue, that surely paying that much more, there must be a reason that would make it worth it to pay more. No. It made no difference whatsoever.
From what I observed, unless you are willing to pay the max price and get VIP seating, there is literally no difference in getting a cheap-or-cheapest general admission. Save yourself some frustration and just pay the $7.
It felt like this venue was all about tricking people into spending every dime possible. I will not be back. I would drive to Boise for a show before...
Read moreUnfortunately I just don't love Twilight shows here even though the venue is beautiful and Ogden is such a rad town. It seems like tickets get oversold because it gets so uncomfortablely crowded. I understand crowds come with the territory with sold out shows, but this year was a different experience since I was with my friend who had ankle surgery and is unable to walk right now. We didn't realize that you had to ask for ADA accommodations 72 hours in advance, and the woman coordinating the ADA platform was incredibly kind and accommodating and made sure my friend had a spot regardless of us not calling ahead, but going to the restroom was impossible since there is no clear path due to the packed crowds. At the end of the show, they also closed off all the exits from the venue except for 1, which was very weird and super stressful. The bands they bring in are amazing (for Twilight specifically) and it sounds great if the people around you aren't talking during the entire show, but for others who struggle with crowd anxiety, the venue may be a bit of a challenge. Also, as a 5'-4" person, I literally can never see the stage, so just expect that if you're around the same...
Read moreWe attended the first, and last concert on Saturday night. To start, the gates were supposed to open at 5, but I received an email two weeks prior that stated it had changed, and would now open at 5:30, which was fine because of the advance notice of it. When we arrived, and got in line at 5:30 to enter, we stood and waited until the gates actually opened after 6. Once inside, we found a seat on a set of bleachers, and patiently waited for the concert to begin. The first group was not the best I've ever heard, but I did not come to see them, so we enjoyed people watching and light discussion while they played. The next group was getting ready to perform, and it seemed like the flow of people coming in was never going to stop. Over the course of the hour and half we were there, more and more people entered the amphitheater, and began sitting down in the obvious walkways around the bleachers. We decided, for safety reasons, that we would leave the concert, and not stay to see the group we wanted to, as we felt the number of people entering the establishment seemed to be too high, and unsafe, should...
