Saw other positive reviews, so we decided on stopping by while we were in town. When walking through the door, there was no greeter/host. We stood for a small minute until someone saw us and walked over and resumed his position at the podium. He didn’t even look at us. No greeting. No instruction. Nothing. So my husband asks “do we just sit ourselves?” And the guy went “ya.” And that was it. No direction. Nothing. Anyway, we walk in and find ourselves a booth. There was maybe 2 other tables seated (and this was on Saturday evening) so we were surprised they didn’t have anymore people. Anyway, we sit for a few minutes and then a server comes over and takes our drink order. She greets us, takes our order, then heads back to the kitchen. I just ordered a water to drink. BIG mistake. I’m not picky about tap water, but there was no way they should have been serving that. The water tasted dirty and had a rust taste/smell. I couldn’t even drink it. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich and honestly, there was no flavor to the meat at all. I ate maybe a 1/3 and stopped. It just wasn’t worth eating. My kids grilled cheese tasted better. The server did not check on us the entire time (she was the only one working, so we understood.) My husband walked up to the check out counter (where the server was standing with no customers) and asks if he can have some fry sauce. She literally says out loud “I JUST want a break”. And turns around, grabs the sauce, and hands it to my husband. I also wanted to note the women’s bathroom— there are 2 stalls. One stall was unusable because there was leak in the ceiling above it, but the other stall doesn’t lock. I was not expecting 5 star food or 5 star service, but we were very disappointed with the overall experience and on our way out the door, decided we wouldn’t ever be back. No wonder they only had 2-3 customers on a...
Read moreI belong to a group of 10-20 guys that meet for dinner and drinks every Tuesday. Was excited to try this place out as helped design it years ago and open it as a Deli for Flying J employees. Upon arrival, I met and had a nice conversation with the owner. There were 10 of us tonight and the restaurant was relatively busy, so the 40 minute wait for food was not a surprise. What was a surprise was that after everyone except myself was served, I was told my Chicken BLT would be right out. 14 minutes later, it arrived at the table and only then was I told that the cooks had missed my order entirely. The sandwich was great except that I had ordered Grilled Chicken and got Fried. At that point, I was not going to send it back. Service was great and food was also great. Sitting for 14 minutes while everyone else at the table ate wasn’t. When it was time to pay, I did get a sincere apology and was told I wasn’t getting charged for my Diet Coke, since I waited so long for my...
Read moreWent to Steiny's this evening for dinner with my daughter, a beer and good looking food. We waited around 30-40 before wondering what was going on, had a beer and a Dr Pepper, got up to pay for the drinks and cancel our order close to an hour after ordering. When I told the waitress/bartender I wanted to cancel my order it had been to long, they were barely pulling our ticket to make our food. The waitress/bartender said that staff in the kitchen had quit and there were new guys helping, give it a month and come back and try. Be prepared to wait I guess, the food "looked" great online, maybe in a...
