Downtown Diner of Berlin, OH — Restaurant in Ohio

I town for furniture shopping and looked for a good dinner spot. This place had high marks and was close to the hotel.

Thursday at 6pm so got parking out front. The staff were great, seated is quick and server was very attentive.

Menu is simple and everything looked good. We had four in our group and placed the orders. Food comes out fast and was hot and tasty. For being a diner, the food was elevated for sure and well worth the money.

The onion petals were light, ceispy and not oily with a great homemade ranch dressing. The chicken tenders and chicken salad used gerber chicken and was juicy and tasty. The club sandwich was stuffed with turkey and crispy bacon and comes with fries. The chili was also a hit.

I despise leaving one star reviews, but after multiple attempts to like this place, I cannot go back. First, prices are insane. The food is good, but not worth $15 for a burger and fries plus $3 for a fountain drink. We waited forever for our food and only had three people in our party. Other parties that came after us received their meals (similar to what we ordered) before we did. The atmosphere isn’t great. It’s just a big open room in the back or a small diner area in the front. Truly one of the best kept secrets of downtown Berlin. 😇🔥💥 Not just another diner. For lunch we experienced their Burger Bar. I hadn’t even known about it. Dave and Ina serve an incredible cuisine here. With the two flavors of boneless wings, there were five different meats on the bar. Incredibly grilled to perfect! Wow.
