The pictures I took look great as iphones have great cameras....however, the food is quite bland and the meatloaf tastes like it came from a nursing home (according to my boyfriend as that's what he ordered). Our waitress and service was great, it's just the quality of food is very poor. Whoever is in charge of the finances and ordering items clearly does not care about quality and orders off-brand instant potato flakes instead of REAL Home-made mashed potatoes or even just a BRAND NAME box like Idahoan would be nice. I recommend just mix fresh with instant, go 50/50. Do SOMETHING to improve the quality and taste. Most of the dinner meals include mashed potatoes so that's one item you can invest better in. Or bring back baked potatoes. You know mineral salts enhance flavor making people enjoy it more without realizing it and it's another cheap solution (better than table salt). Too bad those fresh strawberry pies are "out-of-season" and non-existent to purchase or we would have bought a whole one. My boyfriend said in the 80-90s when he would walk in it smelled like fresh pancake batter in the air (my mother agreed) and he missed that smell. My son said the bacon was dry crunchy, bland scambled eggs, didn't like the potatoes, but he did like the gravy biscuit's so that's one thing he did like. I enjoyed my turkey with gravy, the canned green beans with bacon tasted alright (too bad it's not fresh) but the mashed potatoes were too cheap instant to enjoy. I didn't recieve stuffing with my plate you can see in the pictures it's missing, but I didn't say anything to the waitress. My daughter ordered the salmon for $17 and she had no complaints, enjoyed her meal. Our meals were $10-$12 each (except for the salmon meal). To be honest, we came here knowing the prices were cheaper and wanted to dine in without going to fast-food place. So the prices are fast food prices and we did eat all of our food without complaining to the waitress. Would we come here again? At first we all said no, absolutely not but now that it's been a couple days and my boyfriend had me cook him a homemade meatloaf to make up for the terrible one here had here....I'd say we could come back if we're desperate for cheap prices again but must be more cautious on what to order off the menu. Now if the mashed potatoes and green beans were actually fresh and the meatloaf taste better, the way it should, then yes I'd be giving great reviews and recommendations to family/friends. I just hope changes can be made to improve quality for future customers. Overall, the food was...
Read moreMy family and I decided to try out Perkins Restaurant for a friday brunch. It was a lovely experience, and I wanted to share our thoughts on the food and the overall experience.
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, with a pleasant buzz of conversation.
Our kids ended up choosing a delightful mix of bread toast, pancakes, bacon, and fries. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious, with a generous dollop of ice cream on top that the kids thoroughly enjoyed. The bacon was cooked to perfection, crispy and flavorful, while the fries were a nice, crispy accompaniment.
For my meal, I opted for the quesadilla and waffle with ice cream on top, accompanied by bacon. The quesadilla was loaded with cheese, veggies, and chicken, making it a filling and scrumptious choice. The waffle was light and crispy, and the ice cream on top added a sweet, creamy touch that elevated the dish to new heights. The bacon, as mentioned earlier, was a fantastic side.
My spouse decided to go for something on the healthier side and ordered a salad with honey mustard dressing. The salad was fresh and colorful, with an array of crisp veggies and a generous serving of the tangy and sweet honey mustard dressing. It was a refreshing and satisfying choice.
Throughout the meal, the service was attentive and warm, ensuring our water glasses were always full and checking in on us periodically to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
In conclusion, our brunch experience at Perkins Restaurant was a delightful one. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was comfortable and family-friendly, and the service was exceptional. We will undoubtedly be returning for more family brunches in the future and highly recommend it to others looking for a great meal in a relaxed...
Read moreMy Dad and I caught this Perkins still OPEN. (with this chains 2017s disasterious pairing with the bankrupt Marie Callenders) I was surprised to see one still in operation. (58 Perkins restaurants have been closed down) Perkins restrants have always been a must stop in and eat at, when I'm north of the Mason Dixon. The staff here is friendly, courteous and very inviting. Daniella was our waitress, country charming and very professiinal. Food was tasty, and our orders were spot on. Nice to see they leave a pot of coffee at the table, when your drinking it. The French toast does make me miss New Orleans Style French toast though, but that's what you go to Na'wlens (New Orleans) for. Had a nice enjoyable breakfast, and it's easy to understand why this location is still open, and doing wonderful business. Take a moment when your in the area to stop and see what fast food, awesome service and a fulfilling meal is like. If the service at the remaining Perkins Restaurants is as good as this one. I'm sure they'll be up and running at full steam again. At times we all make bad mistakes, hopefully this is one that this chain can weather and be the better for it. Again, thanks to our waitress and the rest of the staff here... Good People, Good food and Awesome service is what weathers the storms. Keep it Alive, service like this at a fast food chain is...
