We recently ordered takeout, which was our first time ordering from here. When my husband went to pick up the food, he was treated well. However, he got home and realized that both our entrees were missing a side and the kid's meal had the incorrect side. When I called to let them know, I was immediately met with an extremely defensive attitude and told I was wrong. After the person on the phone spent several minutes refusing to listen to me and telling me it had all been delivered, he finally somewhat relented and said we could come back for the missing items. Since we live 15-20 minutes away, it was dinnertime, and we have young children, it wasn't a practical choice for us. I asked what else could be done considering a third of our order was incorrect or missing, and he said someone would get back to me. My online order had my phone number on it and I have yet for anyone to reach out and try to rectify the situation. Mistakes happen but the utter gaslighting and dismissive attitude of the person I spoke with, as well as lack of follow-through to correct their error, means our family will not returning to...
Read moreGreat little (and I do mean LITTLE!) place for Colombian food in NW OKC.
We had passed by El Fogón de Edgar for several years knowing nothing about it, but just recently decided to stop in with friends from Duncan to have a bite. (And I'm really glad we did!)
Be sure to try the empanadas -- they're pretty much the house specialty. (Each table has its own dish of chimichurri sauce, by the way, and this citrusy, mildly piquant, ubiquitous South American sauce is the PERFECT accompaniment for freshly made empanadas.)
The fried yucca here is also tasty, as is the homemade morcilla (i.e., blood sausage).
I wasn't impressed by the Colombian chocolate, really -- it just tasted like regular ol' hot chocolate to me.
The chuletas (pork chops) were well prepared and served with salsa rosada ("pink sauce").
We hope to try the arepes next time -- a neighboring table had some and they looked delicious.
Small venue? Yes, so be prepared to take really, really large groups in batches.
Amazingly friendly...
Read moreHi ya'll! Si it is time to change up that burger today, lol. Colombian based, healthy, what I call whole foods are available. Everyone is nice, yet it was a tad hard to get a refill on these, healthy drinks. Once I set into the lemonade without sugar and my spouse the mango juice, we really liked it. The beans and rice not to dry, I opted for avocado over the shrimp thing, I know, it's a vegetarian preference thing. I had fried plantains and I put their super green sauce on everything. I helped my best with his fries and he finished off my avocado. The music is sometimes too low to enjoy. But I see this as a great start up of things to come. Non vegetarians don't fear, there was a plate with steak, chicken and 2 sausage types with your choice of potatoes. Next time I'm trying the coffee, after all it's Columbian. A little pricy in 2023, looking at $30...
