Golden Chick — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Firstly, every time I go in there, the speaker doesn’t work so they have me pull around. They need to spend the money and get a new speaker. So today I tried it. I spoke loudly so they could understand me and I ordered six wings with without salt because I did not want them spicy. Then the lady said what would I like to drink? I told her nothing I only want six wings then she said, would you like an extra roll I said no I only want one roll and six wings. Then she her name is August said you don’t want the fries and I said again no I only want six wings with no salt and the roll anything else so fast and I said no that’ll do it. Please pull around very fast and very rude. So I get to the window she’s pleasant in a way she hand me my food. I check it and it’s covered in the spicy salt. I said to her I am sorry which I don’t know why I apologize but I said I asked for no salt and I told you three times , she rolled her eyes at me and handed her hand out to get the chicken back from me to replace it with no salt. I just held my hand and said never mind I’m not giving you back the food to get new food after you roll your eyes at me it’s very inappropriate and it’s very rudeand she just sat there and stared at me didn’t apologize didn’t do anything and I’m sure ready to roll her eyes yet again I will never return to this location. And at this point, I don’t think I will ever return to any golden chick because I have such a bad taste in my mouth. No pun intended because I have a mouthful of the salt that was on my chicken. I seriously cannot believe how many one star reviews I just read and I also cannot believe that you guys are still in business. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before I gave them more...

Every evening around 9 their lights are off and can’t get service. So I think they’re closed. Today I double checked the hours and they’re supposed to close at 10 PM. There were construction cones blocking the order menu and lights are off. Pulled up to window at 8:53 and several girls were like “omg I had no idea there were cones out there and why the open sign isn’t turned on.” I’ve been around and know this bit. They get two stars because they were very polite and got food out ASAP. But don’t try to keep customers away. updated second incident where I pulled up and they wouldn’t answer at order menu. Pulled up to window and waited. Finally honked after awhile because nobody came to window (this was 9:18 they close at 10). Girl peaks around corner and disappears. All the lights go off suddenly. I go inside through front door and ask to speak to manager or their phone number. “I’m not giving you their number”said a young Hispanic woman who I assume was the supervisor. I explain that turning the lights off on a customer is unacceptable and rude and this is the second time of bad service. “If you have a problem wait till my brother gets here” she said. But this was a threatening tone like “my brother will kick your a**” tone. I refuse to go there or another golden chick again. For this behavior to be reported on and nothing done or no response from management or corporate (I even called corporate) is the final...

Someone said this is the best fried chicken in town , I hope not. I expected more from Oklahoma. I was visiting family that moved here last year and one day for lunch I decided to come and get some takeout. I got the Breast and Wing 2 Piece Dinner to go with Dirty Rice and Roll. The menu is pretty good sized and they also have Rotisserie Chicken , not just fried. Chicken Tenders and Chicken Sandwiches also. They have about 10 different sides to choose from.

The chicken was cooked good , but was underwhelming. It was very plain and I did ask for one of the sauces to try , but of course it wasn't in the bag when I got home. The Dirty Rice was a little stronger taste than most places make theirs. It was okay. The Roll of course was big and fluffy. Definitely pre-packaged , not a freshly made roll or biscuit. Since it was my first time coming to a Golden Chick I looked at the menu for a bit and told the cashier it was my first time and he didn't try to rush me or be rude. There were no other customer at the time. After I ordered one did come in.

They also do a 10% Discount for Veterans and Civil Servants which I think is great since so many places don't do it as much as they used to. I really don't see myself coming to another Golden Chick when I visit my family again. I think their are better choices out there. The price was reasonable , but the food was just too...
