I was really excited to try this cute lil place out because it advertises on the window that it has Shawarma, which is the traditional Middle Eastern thin sliced meat on a vertical rotisserie. I ordered a beef and a lamb gyro and it was definitely not cooked that way. The beef one was bland cooked ground hamburger chunks with loads of bland sauce over some pieces of spinach. It wasnt appetizing. I had added veggies for 50 cents, which was 4 olives and a few chunks of cucumber with some mushy tomatoes. The lamb had a little more flavor, except it was ginormous cooked chunks also not off of a spicket and kinda tasted like the meat from a Banquet TV dinner, I'm actually not sure if it was lamb, the veggies on it were about the same amount I had on mine. I also had gotten a small hummus and pita bread, which the hummus came in a tiny sauce container and was oily and not that yummy. The pita I think was heated in the microwave.
I was just so bummed!! I'm not a complainer, I just don't think it's fair for people to pay that kinda of price and people should know it's misrepresenting how its cooked.
To be honest, the service really wasn't that great either. It being a cafe also, I was excited to have a Red Bull spritzer while I waited for my food. Instead of the gal making it, she went to the back with my order and never came back out. I waited for a few minutes and I could hear the cook loudly gossiping about somebody's relationship, so I decided to go wait in my car. When the food was ready, I finally got that Red Bull drink I was so longing for, only it wasn't the larger size I ordered. I felt like a burden asking for the size I wanted, but the other portion of the Red Bull that was supposed to be in my drink was sitting on the counter going to go to waste. She had to go to the back to go grab another cup, the iced was poured out of a pitcher sitting on the counter and the spoon was rinsed under water. I'm thinking they're not really set up for making drinks properly. I...
Read moreThe food was good. We had a lamb plater with a side of falafels. The portions were seriously tiny. If the falafel had been on a side plate. The portion for the lamb plate would have been laughable. The taziki was very strong. The service was tentative, and seemed to lack experience.
I was not going to mention the "smoothie," but need to after finding cucumber in my smoothie. I asked if I could have a mango- peach smoothie. I asked if they used real fruit or pointed to the syrups. She said they used frozen fruit. I ordered the smoothie. When it came out it was very pale. I thought they must have used alot of milk. I could not taste the mango or the peach fruit. I went to ask if it was dairy milk or coconut milk. She said dairy milk. I told her I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known there was dairy, because I am allergic to it. She said she would remake it, understanding the issue. The boss did not want to remake it. The waitress let us know. At some point someone remade it. It was better, it looked like just fruit, but the flavor was odd. I just found a piece of cucumber. They had put cucumber in without asking or letting me know. I had shared that I had allergies. I was quite, surprised! Don't do that to people, please. One it is deceptive, I am expecting just fruit, and you put cucumber in to lower your cost. Two it is putting a guest like myself at risk. You have no idea what my allergies are. I have a ton of allergies. The smoothie is sort of okay, again you can hardly taste the peach or mango! I thought we would try your restaurant again, but after this, it is an F and L. First and Last! Not a restaurant I would want to do business with again.
Truly disappointing. We are stopping to get something more to eat. After spending $32.00. I so wish I'd taken a picture.
I would recommend going to other Greek restaurants to see portions and fun friendly service. You will not survive the market if you do not make...
Read moreI should've read the reviews before trying out this place. I was not impressed at all. My husband and I ordered two of the gyro combos with beef, I don't eat lamb. The combos come with garlic fries and a drink. Upon ordering, the employee failed to take our order properly, so I ended with two lamb gyros instead of beef. I think if she just slowed down a bit and took the time to listen or even repeat the order back, she could've avoided taking the order wrong. Then failed to let us know we had to grab drinks from the cooler, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. I did ask when she brought out the food because I felt the need to confirm that we had to grab our drinks from the cooler. It was our first time trying this place out and the lack of customer service was quite interesting. The employees weren't rude in any way, just lacking in the service aspect. I didn't realize I was given lamb gyro until I took the first bite which instantly triggered a gag reflex because of the lamb. Although I don't eat lamb, I did my best and managed to eat about half of my gyro. My husband finished it off because we didn't want to be wasteful. I think the worst part for me was the tzatziki sauce was totally not tzatziki at all. There was no flavor, no cucumber, and just all wrong. Dude, I make better tzatziki sauce at home. The gyro didn't come with onions which, I feel is pretty standard in a gyro and the lettuce was just a soggy mess. Would I go back there? The answer would be no. Just to put it out there for those that are curious, there's plenty of parking in the shopping center, they do have a restroom, there's only 3 tables, the furnishings are really old and outdated. I usually don't mind old and outdated because there's so many hole in wall places with good food. Unfortunately, this one was not...
