BarRoom at Hilton Omaha left much to be desired. I feel compelled to share my honest opinion as it directly reflects the current state of the establishment. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory, with multiple aspects contributing to my disappointment.
One of the major issues I encountered at BarRoom was the cramped seating arrangements. It became apparent that the main restaurant had been closed, and instead, they were trying to accommodate all the guests in the bar area. This decision resulted in limited space and an overcrowded atmosphere. The attempt to squeeze everyone into the bar area led to uncomfortable seating conditions, making it difficult to move around and enjoy a relaxed dining experience. The closure of the main restaurant without providing adequate space for diners was a significant drawback and hindered the overall comfort of the patrons.
Upon ordering my food, I sat down at a table to wait for the service. However, the process felt unconventional as I expected a more traditional dine-in experience.
One unique feature of BarRoom is the utilization of a droid robot to deliver food from the kitchen. While this may sound innovative and exciting, it proved to be more of a nuisance than a benefit. The droid emitted excessive noise, playing loud music that disrupted the ambiance of the establishment. Furthermore, the absence of any cover or protection for the food during transportation raised significant hygiene concerns. What's more, the presence of curious children and adults getting too close to the droid created an unsanitary environment, putting the quality of the food at risk.
Adding to my disappointment was the pricing of the food. The menu items were unjustifiably expensive, seemingly designed to offset the Hilton HHonors credits given to HHonors members. This decision appeared to be a result of the cost-cutting efforts aimed at renting out the executive lounge instead of offering it as a perk for elite HHonors program members. As a result, the overall value for money was significantly diminished, leaving me feeling unsatisfied with my dining experience.
The cramped seating, odd service choices, unsanitary conditions around the droid robot, and overpriced food all contributed to my disappointment. It is my sincere hope that the management takes immediate action to address these issues and improve the overall dining experience for...
Read moreWould not recommend. Expensive (like most hotel restaurants) and very poor service.
Seated myself and though it was morning and no one else was waiting to be served, the two 20-something year old guys behind the bar (+ much older lady who may have also worked there but could also have been a cleaner and was dressed in a grey uniform???) continued talking and carrying on for awhile. No one came over to provide me with a menu.
Eventually (7 minutes later?) I got up and went to the bar to ask how to order. I was told to order at the bar and pay in advance. Strange, but I did it. The older lady brought half my order and when I asked for the rest she asked what else I had ordered. Shortly afterwards, a couple came and sat in the booth behind me and one of the young men from the bar pounced on the table with menus in hand and a spiel about breakfast hours. So proper service was possible after all. I had already tipped 18% when I paid, though I regret that because no service was rendered, as I was simply ignored. Including tip, I paid over $18 USD for a small bowl of regular ol' oatmeal with a couple of almonds and couple of blueberries + MinuteMaid juice with 45g of sugar (not what I ordered).
I had looked forward to ordering something new from the BarRoom everyday, but opted to skip this place after my one and only visit.
There are plenty of other restaurant options within walking distance, so check those out instead if you want good food plus...
Read moreThis place is very hit or miss, stayed here for almost 8 days, had breakfast every morning. First time I tried the benedict, they were very good, few days later, I ordered it again, this time, eggs were undercooked and very runny, pull pork was more pork gravy than anything else, ended up with what looked like 2 blubs of mush. Other meals were the same, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I ate here for the convenience and to use the hotels $15 daily voucher but there are better choices in the area. I had the corn beef once and it was very good. Its just...
