I am not one to typically write reviews, but I can't let this one go. We've stayed at this hotel multiple times with no complaints, but to be fair we tend to be very non critical people. I made this reservation as a birthday gift to my wife so we could attend a concert within walking distance to the hotel. We arrive early, approximately 2:00 and asked for an early check-in. The person at the desk explained it wasn't possible so we decided to explore the downtown area for a bit. We arrived back at the hotel at 4:45. (Check in time was 3:30). The person at the desk was very short with us and said our room wasn't ready and it would be another 30 minutes. On a side note, what appeared to be the manager was standing right behind her and heard the entire conversation. We were frustrated beings we wanted to relax for a bit before the concert. We proceeded to the bar to order a drink while we waited. After I ordered drinks, the manager approached the bartender and whispered something in her ear. I assumed they were going to comp our drinks due to the inconvenience. Nope... I spent $25 due to our inconvenience. We sat for about 20 minutes watching them check other guests in before my wife got frustrated and approached a different employee. The other employee didn't understand why we hadn't at least been checked in and said our room was ready but the floors might be damp beings they just finished cleaning it. We got our key cards and went up to our room. The entire floor reeked of Marijuana, especially our room. The room was filthy, it looked like they ran a wet mop across a really dirty floor without sweeping it first. Clumps of dirt and hair all over the place. There were scribbles on the floor from a sharpie marker and trash still in the trash cans. The AC had been set to 62 degrees so the room was freezing, I assume they thought this would help get rid of the smell. There were also no extra pillows or blankets in the room which is odd beings it was a suite. We were exhausted and just decided to relax for a bit rather than complain. We enjoyed our concert and got back to the hotel at about 11:30. We went to the pantry area to get some bottled water and they had none at all. Pleasantly surprised the hall way didn't stink anymore until we got to our room and it was still horrible. We didn't want to get blamed for the smell so we went to the front desk to address the issue. The guy at the desk basically made joke of it and said the group in that room last night had a crazy party that got a little out of control. He said when the shuttle bus driver got back he would have someone bring up some air freshener. We waited until almost 1:00 am before we put out our do not disturb sign and went to sleep. We were awake checked out by 7:30 and it still smelled horrible. First off, I'm not against Marijuana, but just like cigarette smoke, I don't want to smell it in my personal space. Second, if this was a low budget motel, I wouldn't complain. I spent almost $350 to stay in a room, a king suite, as a birthday gift to my wife that we could not be comfortable in and I feel like it was a joke to the staff. Again, we've stayed here before but will probably seek out a different...
Read moreMay 2025, came here for the Berkshire Hathaway Annual meeting, and arrived to the hotel early. Bonnie at the front desk was very professional and friendly, she secured our luggage until our check-in at 3pm so we ended up walking around town for a while. When we arrived back to the hotel at 3pm they had champagne and a charcuterie board by the front desk which was a nice surprise. Our room was clean except for the floor it was dirty like it hasn't been cleaned before we arrived. We ended up calling the Main Desk asking for the floor to be cleaned in the morning and asked for a hair dryer since there was none in our room. The restaurant located inside the hotel that is called The Round on Monday's they only sell a Buffet Breakfast for $17. They do not offer a regular Breakfast menu where you can pick and choose what you want. This is crazy if you ask me, so we ended up spending $17 for breakfast. However, I just discovered there is a Coffee Shop right across the street that has a nice breakfast menu that is reasonably priced called RALLY Coffee Company (blue sign sticks out of building) we are sorry we didn't eat there instead. The Hotel is walking distance to the CHI Heath Center and restaurants. But most of the time we took LYFT, Taxi Service around town. All and all this isn't a bad place to stay, the staff were friendly and accommodating. But be aware there is a limited choice of sale items in the refrigerator in the Main Lobby. They do NOT offer Chobani yogurts, or Protein Drinks (Milk or Non-Dairy based). They did have boxed Sandwiches, containers of fresh fruits and Parfait with fruit on top, and microwaveable food. But we ended up going to the Hilton Hotel Starbucks to get our Chobani yogurts. All and all this is a good...
