Riding through the OH Rte 2 gives me nostalgia of the good ole days when the family would drive up to Michigan. It is more scenic in Oregon, OH than the boring turnpike. Back on subject, I hadn't tried El Sol Azteca before and was curious. I ordered the Ohio sampler (chicken tamale, chicken burrito, stuffed pepper, and chicken chimichanga) along with the tamarind soda (pop). Everything tasted good, but the sampler could have had more variety--everything was stuffed with chicken and I was "chickened out" and could not eat all of my portion. I would recommend substituting beef or steak burrito to mix it up a bit. The chicken tamale was very good and my favorite of the bunch. I was tempted to get a margarita, but heard that they make them "muy fuerte" and did not want to risk the remainder of the drive. All in all, it is a good place to eat. The waitress was super friendly and quick. I plan to to return one day.

Very modest but friendly family owned "Mexican" restaurant. This was my second visit while passing thru the town of Oregon but I'm always happy when I stumble thru their doors. I ordered the huevos con chorizo, which while a little too greasy for my admittedly stuck up appetite, was just what me and my wife Madelyne we're looking for on a Sunday brunch. Served with rice and beans and 3 small flour tortillas, we were quite pleased with the meal, knowing it was lite enough and yet just the right portion size for our delicate stomachs. The only downside was that they weren't serving alcohol that day, but all was well considering my wife is only 20 years old and not legal to drink in Ohio yet. As for the atmosphere, enjoy the quaint and quiet surroundings from this husband and wife duo. Enjoy the artwork as well.

We took the kids and grandson here after a visit to Fleitz's. Food was in the top 3 of my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant's. I got the chorizada (grilled chicken breast with chorizo on top with cheese sauce) and it was awesome! Beans were better than most Mexican restaurant's, and the rice was great as well. Everyone loved their meals, and we all agreed we would come back. I got corn tortillas with my meal and they were way better than average. Food took a little longer than most Mexican restaurant's, but not that much and the food was worth it. Our server (Ruth) was great. Absolutely worth a stop if you're in the area!

I am terribly disappointed with this place. Yesterday I went and had such a bad experience, when we arrived the waitress did not greet us or even smile. I believe her name was Mercedes. She was very rude, after ordering our food and receiving it she did not check on our table the entire time. We had to get her attention to get service. All the while the restaurant was completely empty! Someone at my table was unsatisfied with their food so she asked to replace two beef tacos that were (untouched) with a different meat because the meat was a “mushy” texture, the waitress rolled her eyes and went to retrieve the cook who came to the table and told us that he would not replace the untouched food and that we would have to purchase more tacos if she was unsatisfied with the beef because “nobody else has complained about the beef” take into consideration this restaurant hardly has business, I have been here quite a few times and there is hardly any customers inside. Overall, I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. I live nearby and I would rather drive the distance anywhere else. The service was terrible, employees extremely rude. No one at the table enjoyed the food!!!! Don’t come here!! Take your...

El Sol Azteca is home to great, authentic Mexican Cuisine. The previous restaurant, Estella's, was also Mexican Cuisine, but due to certain setbacks, the restaurant changed owners and had its menu updated and recipes revamped.

I can't say that the food has improved, only because I have never tried Estella's. What I can say, however, is that the food now is very delicious.

I've had my fair share of Mexican meals from other establishments here in Toledo, but El Sol Azteca really stands out by having very authentic flavor in their food. Their tacos are very delicious, and if I may say, their Barbacoa meat truly stands apart from other locations.

El Sol Azteca is only two months old, so much is still left to be done for its decor, but do not let that stop you from trying their tacos.

I highly recommend their tacos with their...
