Salad Galley — Restaurant in Oregon

I was a huge fan of this place growing up. I haven't been to one since the Westgate location closed sometime around 2000. I was so excited to stop into the Navarre location today but was sadly met with disappointment and unhelpful staff. When I asked if they knew what any of their gluten free options were the girl just said "No sorry". She asked another woman who gave me an annoyed look and sigh and said that "Any of the salads are gluten free but the A, B, and C salads have mayonnaise."

Wrong. Another girl seemed more friendly and attempted to discuss some of the items but she kept bringing up mayonnaise too. Newsflash: mayonnaise has NOTHING to do with gluten. I'm looking at the Caesar and Taco Salad and one other that had pasta, croutons, or doritos one top. THOSE are no longer safe foods. What disappointed me the most was their obvious lack of knowledge and unfriendly attitude about my question. Even my young son picked up on their attitude towards my question.

Look, I get it. I've actually come to embrace places like Panda Express who literally tell you (*via their website & app) that if you need Gluten Free options to eat elsewhere. I respect the frankness of it. I do not appreciate my health issues being carelessly dismissed as a nuisance.

I did enjoy the Santa Fe salad that I ended up getting. Hopefully the chicken is safe and I won't have an adverse reaction to anything....

Went to the salad gallery today ordered the two salad combo thing. The girl asked if we wanted soup because they were getting ready to close so I go down there to order the soup and tell her the one kind she put it in a big bowl and my daughter Said what size is that The girl says oh that goes with the combo you’re getting I said OK well I’ll take this kind with the combo to So she pours a bowl of soup to. Then we go to check out and they try to charge us for large soups and I said no, we got them with the combo that’s what the girl said that they go with the combo And she states that she didn’t understand so why did you assume the size of Soup that we wanted and say it goes with the combo so I proceeded to say well I don’t want to pay six dollar for a bowl of soup I wanted whatever came with the comb like you stated. Then the guy behind us says I’ll take those I’ll take those so as we’re leaving he goes to pay for them and they say oh just charge him for one. I was excited about trying something new for lunch and I decided on the Salad Gallery And WOW I was very disappointed ☹️. I didn’t think anything of the sign looking like it’s from 1989 so I went inside anyways. I am vegan and I was surprised that they didn’t offer any salads without any meat, cheese or eggs. Well there was one which was kind of a mix between a regular salad and a fruit salad? They had to make a special salad in the back simply because I didn’t want Any animal products in my salad. I also got a side of fruit that appeared to be a day old which means the taste had totally diminished. Very disappointed that Oregon city Council have not been listening to incorporating more healthy establishments here in Oregon, vegan to be exact.
