I visited this restaurant twice while on a trip. I went there both times with a group. We got sat down quickly. Then our server came and she seemed polite at first. However as the service went on, she got quite impatient. The waitress had gotten the table’s drinks mixed up. Instead of apologizing for her mistake, she doubled down and insisted WE were wrong about our own order. It also felt like the waitress had also rushed us to leave. Around 20-30 minutes after our food had come, she came around with the check And after then came back every 5 minutes or so.
I had ordered a Torta Ahogada the first time. Although the menu did in-fact say “spicy”, it was very misleading. The sauce used on the torta was ridiculously spicy. No one else at my table could tolerate it after trying some of it. It was a very painful experience trying to eat that dish. When we mentioned how spicy the torta was to the waitress, she got very rude and just kept saying “It said spicy on the menu”.
The second day we had gone to the restaurant, we unfortunately received the same waitress as last time. We had ordered our food and it took roughly an hour for the food to be served; the restaurant did have other tables but it really wasn’t full. This time I had ordered a Choripollo. To be quite frank, I very disappointed at the portion size of the dish. A small, butterflied chicken breast served with a small amount of chorizo and an equally small portion of cheese. The dish was accompanied by 5 tortillas and no more. The dish itself costs about 15 dollars, I was still quite hungry after I had ate. Other mexican restaurant that do serve Choripollo almost always accompany the dish with a side of rice and/or beans.
After we had paid, we asked for the receipt. After inspecting the receipt, I noticed that we were charged 2 times for a tip. The waitress had included an 18% tip on the tab, and as we were paying she asked for further gratuity. We unknowingly paid an extra 7% on gratuity. When we came back and pointed this out to the waitress, she got very agitated and kept whispering stuff under her breath. She gave us back our 7% and we left with a very negative experience of the...
Read moreWe went on an early Saturday afternoon. Only saw one other table with customers when seated and about 15 mins later 2 other customers were seated. Food arrived, Luke warm at best. However,my husband gets upset if I say anything. In addition the waitress didn't return to ask about our meal until he was almost finished eating.I believe she only came then because she brought out the tamale he had ordered with his meal. Be had the Speedy Gonzales with beans. I ordered a cheese enchilada with a flour shell for an additional dollar.( I don't mind the $1 because I perfer flour vs. corn shell. I also ordered a large queso dip.It arrived partly solidified. Not good!! I tried one chip in it and didn't like how it tasted. When I said something to the waitress, she looked at me and responded, "Do you want a bowl to take it home?,you don't like? I responded YES I DON'T LIKE so why would I want to take it home. She.left and returned with our bill. I thought out of courtesy she would have taken it off the bill. Unfortunately, I didn't know this.because my husband paid the bill and never said anything to me. Our daughters went there before us and didn't like the food either. However my brother and his wife did, except the would not change the corn shell for a flour shell when they asked. My husband and I will try it again before we rule it out. the biggest disappointment was not crediting the queso dip. They area reality l new restaurant, so you would think they would...
Read moreI was in there on Friday at 4pm. My husband called and asked me to meet him there. I was not hungry but I ordered a double shot of Jose cuervo. I had just had a shot before I left the house and just wanted another one. When I told the bartender I just wanted a straight shot he looked kind of irritated, then tried to water it down by putting it in a shaker full of ice to chill it. I know for a fact that that would water it down, I told him don't do that just give it to me warm. He seemed a little more irritated, when I got the cup it was not a double shot and it was NOT Jose cuervo. I have no clue what that cheap nasty stuff was that they put in my cup but it definitely was NOT Jose cuervo, the only tequila I drink is Jose and again I had just had some at home so I know the taste. I went home and drank some of mine to make sure I was not loosing my mind. Now I know why he seemed irritated when I wanted it neat, because I now know that they fill there bottles with something different. I paid 13$ for a shot of I don't even know what it is....
