I visited Cello Cafe and Crepes with excitement after reading all the positive reviews. The moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the ambiance, which blended a touch of back home with a modern design. However, my overall experience had a couple of disappointments. Arriving at 10:40, my family and I took our time to read over the menu before deciding on our orders. Just when we were placing them, the cashier informed us that they close at 11:00, but would extend their hours until 11:30. This information was contrary to what their hours on Google clearly stated - a closing time of 1:00 A.M. It left us feeling a bit awkward, as we had driven a whole hour to get there. I submitted a correction to Google, hoping that future visitors would not encounter the same inconvenience. Even though we were told that they would extend to 11:30, it was 11:40 and we didn't receive one of our orders. We asked twice until we got one of the crepes and we were asked if we wanted it to go. No, we drove an hour to have the food in the store. Moving on to the taste of the food and drinks, I must say that the Mint Lemonade Smoothie was perfect for me. On the other hand, the Pistachio Crepe was a let down. While it had ground pistachios sprinkled on top, the actual pistachio flavor was absent. The sauce lacked any pistachio essence, which was disappointing. The Turkish coffee was phenomenal. It was made in sand, boasting a rich and satisfying taste to a coffee lover's taste buds. Other than the few issues that we encountered, it's a nice dessert spot. I just hope the management takes these issues into consideration and makes the necessary...
Read moreSad to say I’m not coming back here again. My family and I liked this place more than the others and always came for desserts. I ordered a takeout order around three weeks ago and the dubai crepes were no good. They were soggy and dry with hardly had any chocolate or pistachio on them. For $50, you’d expect better. From past visits and orders, I expected better. I called them the next morning and the person I spoke to offered me 2 free crepes. Today I called again to order the 2 free crepes and they wouldn’t honor it. They told me the employee didn’t tell them anything about it even though she told me she’d let everyone know and send my name to their group chat. They claimed she was a new worked and basically didn’t know what she was doing. The owner claimed that because it was 3 weeks later she couldn’t do it, but I was not told that it had to be within the same week. I tried to explain the situation, but with her attitude on the phone she did not seem to care about what I had to say at all. Hardly gave me the chance to speak. They offered me 1 free crepe, but after the customer service I received, which I see is in an issue in other reviews as well, I wouldn’t want anything from them. As an added bonus the owner wanted to make the girl pay for them. I wouldn’t do that to someone. Don’t give your employees the okay if you...
Read moreI just reviewed the business next door (Elite Nuts) so I have to leave a note about this place too since they're owned by the same nice people. Had an awesome experience at Elite and my friend and I then headed to Cello for some hot drinks. Firstly, this place is beautiful! Gorgeous, spacious, super clean, and the swings are such a fun touch. The menu looked awesome but we stuck with the basics this time around. I was asking the owners about Karak tea, a product they sell at Elite, because it seemed similar to masala Chai and as an Indian in the south suburbs I'm always looking for a good cup of spicy tea. :) They recommended the Karak tea they make from scratch at Cello, and wow, it did not disappoint. It's a perfect cold weather treat and thankfully not too sweet. My friend loves super strong coffee (bordering on espresso) and the American drrip coffee was a bit too weak for her preference. The owners came over and asked about our experience and insisted on remaking her coffee to her liking. It turned out delicious and we appreciated the great customer service. I'll be back to try the crepes, waffles, and authentic Turkish coffee. I don't know them whatsoever, but the owners made such a positive impression on me and I really want to see their...
