I'll add another "Wendy is AWESOME" to the list. Wendy is crazy knowledgeable- and- she has an innate talent for truly superior customer service! Way above and beyond what you're likely to find ANYWHERE else. She's THAT good at what she does...
If you really want to keep reading, here's my story to back up my praise: 27 years ago I was told "Go downtown for an engagement ring." I did... Eh. I felt like I was just any other goof shopping for diamond. OK, I was, but I was there to spend a bunch of cash! Unimpressed, I went home. Then, just by chance- coming out of the mall for whatever, I spotted "Bess Friedheim Jewelry." I stopped for the heck of it. Man, was I glad I did! (Side note, I was an insurance underwriter years back, but not before then, so I had to know at least *a little about diamonds. *Not like Wendy or her mom Bess!) I worked with Bess, but I met Wendy and their friendly Rottweiler (sorry Wendy I forget his name!) THEY. WERE. PHENOMENAL!
Wendy and Bess found me an amazing, emerald-cut diamond. And, if you know anything/are learning about diamonds, an emerald cut HAS to be good or you can spot the flaw(s). At least I can. 🤫 (OK, so my mom worked for a jeweler through high school and college, so... 😉) Anyway, Wendy and Bess treated me like family! I was like FORGET Downtown! And- I got a better deal!
Still with me? So the wedding didn't ultimately happen (buy the book! 🤣) My "Ex" eventually kindly- and unexpectedly- gave me the ring back. (Great gal, still friendly, just figured out we wanted different things. It worked out... 😇)
Knowing it's taboo to use the same ring for a different fiancé (I have three sisters and if/when/maybe 😆). Wendy and Bess mounted it as a pendant for my mom, made to match with her wedding ring. Again, a good deal- they even bought the 'used' gold band back from me! Since then, long story short (too late!😜) I have shopped there for special gifts for family.
Honestly, life moved forward and I hadn't been in the store for years. Interestingly enough, my Oncologist office (yep) moved right outside the mall. Same story, different year. I spotted the store leaving my Oncologist and decided just to stop in; I'm shopping for something special for my sister's/business partner of 30 years' 60th birthday. So it's gotta be SPECIAL.
After many years of not seeing Wendy (and me looking quite different) she remembered me! She greeted me like a long-lost friend. I appreciated that for sure- but, that's the kind of person she is. If you go, you'll see. It's so nice to be treated well in this age of "What the hell is customer service?!" I'M in a service business myself- and a longtime cancer patient- so I have GREAT respect for outstanding 'customer service' either as a patient or just a shopper! (Yeah, I could spin lots of yarns on Docs- here again 'downtown' doesn't always mean best! Often, but not always... Another story!)
I'm so glad I stopped in to see Wendy. She has been incredible. She takes your input and applies her talents. She really makes the effort. She's designing a special gift and something special for me (to replace something I lost in a hospital).
If you've made it this far, congrats! 😂 Now, if you want amazing service, an excellent value for something truly unique and special, I say stop in- but- for the ROYAL TREATMENT, call and make an appointment with Wendy. She will take the time to find you that something truly special for that special someone. For any occasion, but if you're buying an engagement ring, obviously you want something unique to your (hopefully!) fiancé. You'll get that from Wendy.
Congrats and...
Read moreMy fiancé bought my engagement ring at Bess Friedheim Jewelry. He proposed and gave me the ring. We took the ring back to Bess Friedheim to have a matching custom wedding band designed. We had to leave the ring in the jeweler's possession. We were told it would take several weeks to make the wax mold of the band. My fiancé began calling to check on the status of the wedding band and was given different excuse as to why it was not ready. Finally, he went into the store. It was then he was told that the ring had been lost, the wax mold never had been made. This was just four weeks before our wedding. The owner offered to replace the ring but we lost all trust in the owner. Her efforts at service recovery we horrible. She did not want to refund the retail value but her cost. She was extremely rude when we told her we had to file a police report and did report her to Orland Park Chamber of Commerce. We did get reimbursed after a claim went to her insurance company. The value may have been refunded but the loss of the emotions our ring had can never be replaced. We went to Martin and Martin where we purchased a new ring and our...
Read moreTerrible experience .I came in to resize a wedding ring she asked me twice if I have a job and where did I get the ring !!! lol . She told me she would have to send it somewhere to get an estimate also refused to take a measure of my finger so I can't bring my business elsewhere LOL for real . I went to the mall 2 min away and got the estimate in 5 min and my finger measured . I actually am their neighbor live walking distance from this place and get ice cream next door all the time .
