As a former chipotle worker, it is disheartening to see what has become of the franchise. When I worked there 5 years ago, it was custom for everyone including the GM to welcome every customer into the store, and it was instilled in us to provide nothing but the best guest experience. Being someone who can’t eat dairy, I made sure to keep cheese separated into one half of the guacamole bin , even throughout the guac flips , and that every other worker kept up the same ethic, since Chipotle seems to not ever want to change the guac bin to a different location other than right next to the cheese. There would be a lot of people with diet preferences as well as medical conditions that made this extra important to me to uphold for my community. The counters would be cleaned throughout the entirety of my shift, and even though I wasn’t a manger, it was important for me to have the communication with my coworkers for us all to be on the same page with cleanliness. This made working at Chipotle the best customer service experience I’ve had in my 5 years of working in the food industry, because these were the values or the “Chipotl-way” that was explained to me upon the orientation.
Today , with inflation and after the pandemic, it is clear for me to see that Chipotle as a company has lost their own reason for beginning their mission. I had ordered in store today at this location and it was upsetting to not be welcomed in , and to watch as the cashier had no idea what they were doing the whole time. The line wasn’t too long in the store, and yet the only other girl who was on tortilla had to go back in forth to the back to replace food and to get orders right on cash , leaving the one girl to deal with everyone’s order herself for the 20 minutes I waited in there for my online order I had placed already 20 minutes before arriving, and that they told me wasn’t ready, once I had also gone up to order in store. Within those 20 minutes I watched as that girl was crying the whole time and getting frustrated, lashing out onto all the customers and projecting rudeness onto them in the way she would ask them what they wanted. I have seen her before , so I know she wasn’t new, and it bothered me how when she couldn’t wrap a burrito she would start crying and then proceeding on to be rude again to people, while the cash person slowly unfolded bags not putting anyone’s order in them, but just idly standing by as the one other girl had to take over on cash. Their lack of communication from people working in FOH combined with the lack of communicating from back of house, I knew that people from the back, based on my previous experience, should have been on top of refilling the food so that the two girls could stay on the line. After the 20 more minutes I had to wait in store, I finally asked the cash again, who had been slowly unfolding the bags still, where my order was, and watched as she got it from the back of the store right next to the drive up window. My order was just sitting there that whole time, and should have been brought up to the rack by BOH. I wanted to write this review to let Chipotle know that these are the people they are hiring these days, even when recently I’ve been turned down from my reapplications at these stores , feeling that they intentionally don’t hire real competent workers anymore, or workers with previous experience, over the ones that do less than a good job. It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at Chipotle, seeing the lack of integrity by management and the workers , and to not be able to even enjoy my food as I was too focused on picking out strands of cheese out of my guac, when I specifically mentioned that I couldn’t eat cheese while ordering the guac. I will not be supporting this company anymore as it seems to only be going downhill everywhere I’ve been since inflation has gone up and after the pandemic, the energy going into the food being served to me is not something I would ever...
Read moreI have never been to a chipotle before, and the experience my girlfriend had at this location makes me never wish to. This food establishment was disgusting, floors covered in trash, and tables that looked as if they had not been cleaned in days. Aside from the gross environment, the service was incredibly subpar. There was a line reaching the door with only one cashier, while other employees were sitting around very obviously not doing what they were supposed to. On top of this, the employees were also incredibly rude, and refused to make her a quesadilla since “the machine is in the back”. If that was not ridiculous enough for a Mexican food chain, they offered instead to make her a kids quesadilla, which she begrudgingly accepted. When she asked for sour cream on the quesadilla, she was YELLED AT by one of the employees, as apparently “you can’t get sour cream on a kids quesadilla”. I understand companies having strange policies and restrictions, but in what way is adding something as popular as sour cream to a tiny quesadilla that she already was forced to settle for instead of the normal quesadilla that she requested a restriction? Are children not allowed to like sour cream? Once she received her tiny, sour creamless quesadilla, she opened up only to find that it had not even been cooked properly, and was still RAW! The outside of the quesadilla was legitimately cold. When she spoke to an employee about this and asked for them to cook it properly, the employee tried to convince her that was in fact not cold. Do these poorly mannered employees think their customers are stupid? If it feels cold and is raw on the inside, then it probably wasn’t cooked well. After insisting on having it properly cooked, they wrapped it in foil and cooked it. When bringing it out, they tried handing the FRESH OUT OF THE OVEN, foiled, tiny, sour creamlesss quesadilla to her with nothing to hold it with, even through it was not burning hot. When asked if she could have a plate to carry it on since it was hot, they insisted it would not be hot, even though it just came out of the oven and was wrapped in foil that would in fact be hot. They had been holding it with a heat glove, of course it was hot! After asking repeatedly for something, they put it in a lid and handed it over. And guess what? It was in fact hot. Surprise I know. I hope this horrible experience does not reflect this company as a whole, because if so it shows that they have no respect for their customers, and that they care little about proper cleanliness and food safety. A health inspector would have a field day at this place, and from the plethora of other poor reviews I’m sure it’s not just one bad day. Please find some compassion and reflect on what kind of people you employ within customer service roles. Food was decent though, once it was cooked...
Read moreSo I’ve came to this location two times prior and had zero issues. Employees were great. This particular day I had placed an order over uber eats for me to come in and pick up. Worked a long shift as a server myself. I come into the store to pickup my OWN uber order and the older Hispanic gentleman behind the counter was confused looking for my bag. Then told me someone came to pickup my order. I was confused cuz I had placed my own order so how could someone pick it up? So I had told him oh that’s weird I placed a pickup order tho. This is my order. So a woman came over and I explained the situation to her. She said if it’s a delivery they can’t remake it. If it’s personal they have to. Well it was a personal order. He started making my bowl than told me in a very rude tone “someone is probably halfway to your house right now with your order. But I’ll remake it for you anyway” so yea that kinda ticked me off. As soon as he said that the woman came out from the back and told him yes her gmail is in there you have to remake it. Working in a restaurant ik how uber orders work. You have to hand the uber driver or person their order and watch them mark it off on their phone. Sometimes mistakes happen and people can get the wrong bag and a mixup happens but hey it happens. I had showed him my phone screen and told him oh no this is my order this is my name. You can see right here on the screen it says pickup. It’s my order. He didn’t say anything and grabbed the rice spoon. I gave him my order and he aggressively threw everything into my bowl. He hit the guacamole spoon so hard it spilled out of my bowl. When he was finished and put the lid on he threw my order across the counter n it slide across it. Then threw my other bowl on top of it. Grabbed the bag and aggressively winded it opened and dropped my bowls in the bag. I work down the street from this place so it’s conviene for me to go in after my shift. But not anymore. It’s not my fault you guys got the orders mixed up and gave someone my order. That elder Hispanic man was extremely rude and because of this interaction I will not be returning again. I was so frustrated I forgot to tell him to add queso to my order so I ended up paying for queso that...
