I usually hate leaving bad reviews but my experience this time was so frustrating that I decided to make it public so that hopefully this review gets to the right person and they can fix it.
I suggested to my family and friends to try this place and what a mistake this was! I called ahead saying we were on our way.(10 mins away). The hostess told us that they couldn't take a reservation but the wait was less than 10 minutes.
We arrived to the restaurant and were told that the wait was 45 minutes since they had assigned tables for party of 8. We didn't quite get it since within a few minutes, people started leaving and the restaurant was half empty. But we understood and decided to wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, we were told that it would take longer. So at that point, we gave the suggestion to put some tables together. (it could even be on the patio since there were also tables open out there).
So after 20 more minutes, even though the tables were cleaned. they sat us. We were excited because we were extremely hungry. Well... after a few minutes, a very angry and moody server came to us and said that she had no idea which hostess put the tables together but we had to move because that was a fire hazard. (no emergency door and pathway was being blocked). Even though we found the situation to be so unnecessary and a joke, we explained that all we wanted was to actually eat at that point, so we asked for a manager. The manager came outside, very politely and apologized and said she was sorry and that the tables weren't blocking anything and that we were fine.
After she walked away, the server came back saying that the manager was new and she had no idea what she was saying and that we would have to wait for another table. People around noticed what was going on and were making comments of how much of a joke the situation was lol.
According to the server, the table inside was ready for us and she would sit us. but we still waited for another 15 minutes. At that point... we decided to leave because we knew that the experience wasn't going to be a great one and we just didn’t feel comfortable at that point to stay.
I know that we all have our bad days and I can completely understand that some days dealing with tourists isn't too thrilling. But we are locals and it would be nice to have been treated with respect. I've worked in fine dining before so I can empathize, but the lack of knowledge, respect and professionalism was just too much. Hopefully they can get it together. Read moreThis was the best experience I have had at PF Chang with my parents. My server’s name was Michael. He was extremely patient, attentive, and kind. Let me elaborate, my dad is 86 and can’t hear although he thinks he can. Michael asked 3 times for our drinks order and 3 times my day said, “Chang’s Spicy Chicken”. Simultaneously my mom 83, was yelling at my dad trying to tell him what Michael was asking, then randomly start talking about the bathroom and then started ordering drinks. Through it all Michael remained composed, nice and accommodating as his head continuously moved left to right like rapid fire keeping up with my parents conversation and random request. You see my mom has short term memory loss. She will say something and 10 minutes later forget she said it and say/ask it all over again. Very difficult table to say the least however, he smiled and fulfilled every request, answered every question no matter how many times it was asked but forgotten by my mom. We ordered appetizers and drinks and for me…. He knew right when to ask, would you like another??? lol! He recommended a drink for my mom and not only did she love but hey it settled my nerves- lol
Imagine people just pulling random people walking by because they forgot their server, even though he just walked away a minute ago. Michael was unbothered by the demands of such a challenging table, he remained attentative, talked to my parents, made jokes and attended to their every need! I typically don’t write reviews but he was top notch! I truly believes he is worthy of a promotion because he is not just a server. He is exemplary and has demonstrated to us that he is 100 steps above the rest and is a perfect model of what customer service should be and what it used to be decades ago. His work ethic is unmatched and is worthy to represent PF Chang in a leadership compacity. Lastly don’t you know through the course of it all my mom knocked over water and it spilled everywhere. Been a resident of Orlando, I try to choose very carefully my places to eat, specially, if I’m inviting family or, specially, someone from out of town, which was the case today. I try to give my guest, the best experience I can possibly give( under my control, of course). Last month, I was in Abu Dhabi for business, and on my day off, I decided to take a stroll at the Yas Mall to have dinner, when I saw P.F. Chang’s🤩 , so there I went. I was greeted at the front entrance, like I was the owner of the Mall, unbelievable! The hostess took me to my table, and within 1 minute, the server came, greeted me again, and welcomed me in, with a huge smile on his face. After a very short interaction,a few questions, so on and so forth, he started his impeccable job, by explaining the menu, and making suggestions. After a few minutes of going through the beautiful colored pictured menu, I was ready to order the delicious Mongolian beef😋 what an experience, excellent food, and the presentation, impeccable! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So, given my great experience in Abu Dhabi, and because is a well know restaurant in my own town, I suggested we’d go there for lunch today🥳 Boy, did I make a TERRIBLE mistake 😩, by choosing P.F.Chang’s, at the Mall of Millenia, not only as a first timer my self(at this location), but even worse, I had a friend from out of town… what an embarrassment! The food was simply HORRIBLE, cold, and the fried rice, pitiful! The Chinese joint at the strip mall, next to ANY Publix, makes much better Fried rice! I could not believe it, NOT EVEN CLOSE, to the experience in Abu Dhabi! I’m angry, embarrassed, and I feel cheated! My check, with tip, $95.00 One person! UN FRICKING believable! I doubt very much, I’ll ever go back to that P.F....
