My trip to Tucson was full of ups and downs. If things had gone better, I would be making many more trips down in the future and when I did, I’d be stopping in at Snooze to appease my need for breakfast. Of course, before I went, I’d go online and put my name in for a table. Even with such a reservation, there was a long wait. In fact, my friend called an audible and took us out of the line to grab a couple of seats at the bar. It turns out that that was where all the cool kids were seated anyway, so it was no hardship. The bar is a real bar, but I was not in a drink in the morning mood, so I got an orange juice. Madisyn, our waitress, did a great job of keeping me topped up, so I was full of vitamin C that morning. We watched college football on the giant screens and held hands while we wanted for our food. Despite a very interesting menu, we were boring - I had eggs benedict and my friend had pancakes. The place was jam packed, so it was not too much of a surprise that the kitchen was slow. That was alright with me since I had football and a pretty girl to look at. When the food came out, it was amazing. I had two kinds of eggs benedict. One was classic and the other was a southwest take. My friend had three different pancakes - regular, blueberry and pumpkin. The menu had plain items on it like bacon and eggs, French toast, plain pancakes, etc... for less adventurous eaters. If you are willing to take even a tiny step outside your comfort zone, go for one of the specialties. You’ll thank me for it. Even with the crowd, no one rushed us while we sipped coffee and chai tea. In fact, I have to commend Madisyn for making our visit very pleasant. I have far-fetched fantasies of having a reason to go back to Tucson some day. It’s not very likely, but a boy can dream. In that dream, I can smell coffee and...
Read moreMy wife and I visit Tucson frequently to visit friends and just for fun trying restaurants and unique locations. We stopped at Snooze before leaving late Sunday morning. We were thrilled with the choice and our experience. The food was great and we tried many items; double bacon sandwich, chile verse bene, a couple pancakes, Bloody Mary's, hashbrowns, coffee... Both my wife and I loved everything. However, even better than fantastic food was the people. They were just next level nice!! Walking up we could tell there was a line. They advised about 20 minutes, but also showed invited us to coffee and water bar area. My wife is not overly patient to wait but was wanting coffee and quickly sold on that. They texted in less than 8 minutes and even came out to let us know after noticing we didn't see text immediately. That was so nice and friendly. They led us to tables, assured my wife got more coffee (which she loved). Then server Olivia took over. She was sooooo friendly, fun and helpful. She was so good at helping us choose items and again so fun and friendly. By the time we left it was as if her and my.wife were great friends (besties). Food was great! But thanks Olivia!! You were great and so fun and helpful. You made our great breakfast/lunch amazing!! Possibly.our favorite server ever -...
Read moreWent on a Wednesday morning - decided to wait the 30 minutes to eat at an indoor table. 45 mins later we went in to check on how much longer and were told we were still 4th in line, and that people just weren’t leaving their tables. We understood - can’t control that. Another 15 mins or so we sat down at an outdoor table that had a little sun on it and decided we could just sit there instead of continuing to wait. But were told that was a waiting table, not one to serve. Ok - understood. Another 10 minutes-ish they were ready for us - went inside, and then they led us to an outdoor table that we could have had when we first arrived an hour earlier. Upon questioning the table for 6 that we could clearly see cleaned off indoors, the initial response was now that there was someone else in front of us for that - a party that had arrived after us. In the end they moved us to that table. Wait was quite long for our food (granted they were busy). One of our party had the shrimp and grits and said it was quite good. Pancakes and Bennys were good - server was attentive and on top of it. Most eggs were ok. One plate was quite late and the over-medium eggs were barely over easy (quite runny whites). Hate to be negative - but wouldn’t...
