Waitress was less than attentive. The waitress was at our table twice. My husband had had a beer, and wanted another, but our waitress was never at our table at a time to order one. Appetizers were ok. My husband ordered a rib eye steak, and it looked as though he was autopsying it. When he was done, he had pulled out about a third of the total of the meat as fat and grizzle and left it to the side of his plate. He asked for a rare steak, and there was no trace of pink in it. I ordered a fajitas plate. It looked as if it had been spilled and scooped back onto the plate. It was completely unappetizing to look at. The food was lukewarm at best. The rice was a perfect al dente, if rice was supposed to be served crunchy!. We are fairly regular customers there, and the last 2 times we have had issues. The first of the two, I ordered fajitas, and was asked the question "pink or no pink" for the steak. I said a little pink is fine. When the plate came, it looked as if the steak was not on the grill more than 30 seconds. It was bleeding on the plate! And, the meat was crusty where it sat under the heat lamp waiting for pick up. Our waiter that night was really slow! That night I did send my food back, and it took 50 minutes to get a replacement. I just boxed it and brought it home. Sending back food is not normal for us. We are very easy going people. We have worked in service industry jobs, so we try to be respectful of those who take care of us. We did not complain, other than sending back my entree a few weeks ago. We didn't complain Wednesday night either. I told my husband to send back his steak, but he wouldn't. I took my fajitas home. By the way, the waitress got a really good tip, because my husband is a good man. Our waitress was complaining about the kitchen staff to us, and said she was afraid as messed up as they were in there, we'd probably get our dinner before our appetizers. We laughed and I told her that we wouldn't care about that, we are just not upset over trivial things like that. I told her " life is too short " to get upset over things like that. She said she wished all of her customers were like that. I truly believe in that philosophy. People get too upset over the little things. But, I also believe that feeling that way opens you up for a little bit of being taken advantage of. Like having your waitress not take proper care of you because she knows you are nice people. After all of that, I think I will draw to a close by saying I will not be in a hurry to visit Applebees again anytime soon. Thanks...
Read moreWe arrived prior to the lunch rush and were seated immediately. Conor our waiter was very polite and attentive and the food that we got was typical Applebee's fair.
However, it took over 20 minutes to get 4 /5 drinks and another 10 minutes for the last persons drink.
Our appetizer plates were mostly clean on top but filthy on the bottom and all of our silverware was poorly washed.
My wife's water came with debris in it, her salad came with old food on the plate and my entree came with marinara or salsa on the plate (something thick and red) . And I ordered steak. There shouldn't have been whatever it was that was on there. And maybe it was something that accidently dripped on from somewhere else but with how dirty everything else was... Who knows.
The woman's bathroom, I am told, was quite dirty though the trash Had been recently changed.
The only reason/s this review is 2 star and not 1 is because our waiter did a good job and when we spoke to the manager about our issues he was kind enough to comp our entire order, which again, the food itself wasn't bad. The only reasons we stayed once we received our entrees and saw the issues was the manager comped the bill and the kids were really looking forward to what they ordered.
We made sure to leave a cash tip at approximately 20% for our waiter but without getting a bill.. It was a guess so we left $10. It's worth noting though that he stopped coming over once the manager said the bill was comped.
I don't think we'll be returning to this particular Applebee's and with looking over other reviews it looks like this particular restaurant location has some room for...
Read moreI am a Door Dash driver who had a delivery order from Applebrees on West Main St in Kalamazoo MI. The app stated the order was to be completed for pick up by 5:36pm. I waited, I inquired where the order for my customer was several times and received various answers from "it's going to be a few more mins," to "we have two customer orders with the name of 'Tony' for delivery." When the order finally came out, I was told they had mixed the orders up. I figured the receipt would reflect the time the customer's food actually came out of the kitchen for me to then deliver, and therefore reflect on Applebees, not me , the Door Dash delivery person. I was floored when the Applebees receipt indicated the customers food was ready to go at 5:38pm. As a result, I missed several other delivery opportunities and income, and I also took a hit for my overall delivery rating, and the customers food arrived later than it should have because there was also a car accident directly in from of the customer's apt complex off Drake Rd (Kalamazoo MI). Because of Applebees runaround, it reflected poorly on Door Dash, and myself, an employee of Door Dash. My phone's GPS is the only thing that will confirm that I (Door Dash) was NOT late in getting to the restaurant (who then, becomes responsible for getting customer orders into the hands of delivery drivers so we can get orders delivered in an efficient, timely fashion and keep businesses open and moving their product). Sincerely, Colleen M Snuffer, Door Dash...
