I will not be ordering a single thing from this store after how I was treated when I was picking up an order, while working for GrubHub.
I've picked up hundreds of orders from this vendor. The employees know I work for GrubHub. I was denied service and threatened to be banned from the store for not retrieving my device from my car that is recieving dispatched orders from GrubHub, and showing the cashier and manager my phone. Which is a Violation of anyones privacy to demand to see anyones phone without a warranted arrest. Mine stays mounted charging all day in the same spot to avoid damage, and it is GrubHub's policy with the Restaurant to provide me with the order if I provide them with the details of said order.
Keep in mind, this order is already 15 minutes past due due to this back and forth banter because a private Restaurant owner and management team decided to illegally demand to see phones of delivery drivers, which is by law Private Property.
This conversation all took place after I informed the cashier of GrubHub's policy of giving the customers Name, last 4 digits of the Order Number, and menu items if necessary. I was then disrespected and the diner, after taking the order off of the Heating Plate area where the food is kept warm, while I was on speaker phone with GrubHub support, the manager himself threatened to ban me from "Steak n' Shake" because I am picking up what has to be the hundredth order I've picked up from this exact individual from this exact "Steak n' Shake."
For all delivery drivers, nowhere in our contracts does Door Dash, Uber Eats, or Grubhub require to show a Vendor our phones. I've had customers want a refund because of these issues, and either way the driver gets paid whether a vendor gives us the order or not. So for you Restaurant workers, remember that because it all falls on the Vendor's shoulders when GrubHub issues a refund to the customer, and you just wasted company time and product preparing an order you failed to get to the customer in a timely manner.
Once a Grubhub driver is sent to a restaurant, and the order is already 15 minutes past due from being picked up, you do not make the customer wait another 15 to 30 minutes for another driver, without remaking their food.
Also, one of the staff members from behind the counter took the liberty of calling me a b*#$%, which I wasn't very happy about. All of this took place while I was on Speaker Phone with GrubHub, and they were demanding to see the device GrubHub sent me the order on...
It's understandable that people steal these orders, however, when I am a regular delivery driver with a business, and we both know I am your regular driver for GrubHub, causing a customer to have to refund their order or wait an extensive period of time after it was made makes people not want to order from this restaurant anymore. Why be charged for something that was made an hour ago because you don't like a certain driver GrubHub has sent you?
Denying us service for us not allowing you to violate our rights to privacy as delivery drivers...
When it's all said and done, I get paid either way, and threatening to ban me as a regular delivery driver is going to constantly result in complaints and reports I have to make to GrubHub, which is why this has now made it on Google.
There is a serious issue with Vendor's forcing delivery drivers to allow them to violate their rights to privacy, and show them their phones, otherwise they simply try to request another driver. They can't, I have to file a complaint while GrubHub tells me to take the order from the vendor, and how this particular "Steak n' Shake" does not care about getting the customer their order while respecting the rights to privacy of every deliver driver that sets foot in the establishment.
Everytime you cause us issues, everytime you waste my time and hinder the customer from getting the order they paid for, I will file a complaint for this blatant disrespect and unnecessary treatment of someone who has worked delivering food for this restaurant among many...
Read moreWaitress was slow and not friendly When my family and I arrived we saw a Male waiter outside smoking. He went in ahead of us. He seated us then we waited... we waited for about 10 minutes before I noticed a female server come in from outside. After another 5 minutes she came and waited on us. The Male server had been walking around serving other tables the entire time we waited. I dont know if the female server was outside smoking too or just started her shift. But we ordered. Food came in a good timely manner. That was good but our order was wrong and missing things too. The waitress didnt bring silverware either. I told her this isnt what I ordered. She said apologize she just said oh ok and took it back to the cooks. Within 5 minutes I had my correct burger but it was not made with the specific request I asked for. The waitress just sat the plate down and walked away. I just ate it as is because I didnt want to send my plate back to the kitchen and complain again. She didnt come.back to check on us until we had like 1 bite left on our plates. She never say thanks, smiled or even told us her name. I took the bill to the front counter since she had sat it on our table before we even had our correct food eariler. The Male server who seated us was taking payments. He asked how my meal was I said "meeh". I told him food was ok but service was... he finished my sentence and said "bad service??" I said yes terrible. I hate going to the west main steak and shake because it's always something bad. I only went there last night because my family had just finished cleaning a new house we are moving in to. And nothing else was open at midnight for a sit down meal. Heidi was my server. And I did not leave her a tip. As a former server it takes A LOT for me to not leave a server some form of a tip. Also there was no management interaction. He appeared to just man the grill the entire time. Had he turned around and looked in his dining area he would have seen myself and 3 other tables sit and wait for initial service for about 10-15 minutes. I want the only one complaining...
Read moreWent to this steak and shake tonight and had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Granted it is 4am but we walk in and a worker named Emily who is on her cell phone sitting at the bar says “you guys can sit anywhere” so we sit at a table. After 10 minutes of the same girl sitting at the bar on her phone and 2 people in the kitchen just looking at us. We grab our own menus and the girl says “we don’t have a server right now you have to sit at the bar” so we were confused but whatever we just wanted to be served. Then the girl continues to be on her phone and the other two just in the kitchen. Another 5 minutes go by and we are asked what we want. We order and he tells us the bill price and we say we need it separate bills. And he very rudely says, “you should of told me that first, I rang it in together” and we apologized but we’re confused because we were never asked either. So he makes a large fuss about it and is very rude and forced us to pay with one card. At this point we would of just liked to have our food. But it takes another 15 minutes, i order a bacon cheeseburger and gets a cheeseburger with no bacon. I didn’t want to wait any longer so i ignored this. The Emily worker was just on her phone talking the entire time. Then just says “alright I’m out” and leaves?? Then if it couldn't get any worse while we were eating they decided empty whatever very disgusting liquid that was under the grill (the same grill our food was just cooked on) right in front of our faces. It was very disturbing and made me lose my appetite very quickly. He also then decided to scrap out the very piled up and dirty grease pan of the same grill. At this point we were very disgusted and decided to leave. I do not recommend going here. It was the worst experience in any restaurant I have ever had. I felt disrespected and felt as if I was annoying the workers for making them do there job. They need to hire a much better staff and learn customer...
