This was our third visit but it's been awhile. We walked in and the guy at the counter was the least personable he could have been. He didn't greet us, didn't ask how he could help us, really didn't speak to us at all throughout the ordering process. I ordered a lemonade with our meal. I asked what flavors they have and he motioned to a take out menu rubber banded in a pile on the counter. It has tiny print, so I couldn't easily locate the flavors. I asked for a specific flavor, which he said they did have, so I ordered that. We waited a long time for our food. I looked over at one point and saw a box in the window and assumed it was ours. He was playing around on the register and must not have heard the bell behind him that we heard on the other side of the room because he ignored our food until it had been there several minutes until he finally turned around. The food was mediocre. Our fries weren't hot and they weren't salted. The philly was dry in spots and the meat crispy in the dry spots. He said nothing to us when we left. Overall not a great experience and as we left my husband said he didn't think he'd want to go back given the lousy service and mediocre food. 1 sandwich, fries, a lemonade and a can of pop cost us $21. Definitely better places to spend our dining dollars where they might remotely seem like they appreciate our business. We definitely didn't get...
Read moreOur family loves Baba's!
They have really good food offerings, and everything we've tried there has been just great.
This location has been open a couple years, before that we used to patronize the Aurora location on Lake St.
This store has a little better seating, however they seem to be having issues with their furnace because they have a space heater in the dining area & it's pretty chilly in there most of the time.
My younger daughter loves their gyros (ribbon meat, she calls it) and they have a good tzatziki sauce with a good consistency & lots of flavor.
I, too, enjoy the gyros, but also like the gyro nachos made with Doritos.
My wife likes the chicken nachos with Doritos. My older daughter loves their burgers.
Their fries could be a bit crisper for my liking but they're perfectly passible.
I also like that they offer fried cauliflower, as that is something you just don't find everywhere & harkens back to my childhood.
Their fried mushrooms are fantastic, hot dogs are good, and as near as I can tell there's just nothing on their menu that they don't do well.
They were also open on Christmas Day, when no place else was open, and we weren't feeling like cooking. Baba's was our Christmas...
Read moreI really try to support local places especially if they are new. Each time I have gone here there is a different issue (I wish I could say it was due to me being picky but that wasn’t even it). You will be lucky if you get through on the phones; Just know if you do, the wait time they tell you will probably be double if not triple the time. When you order a “super” that is to mean double the meat...the first time they nailed it so when I got it again I expected the same. There was probably 1/2 the meat and when asked about the smaller portion all he said was I made it, it’s right. Well if that’s the case I hate to see a normal order. They rave about their lemon pepper seasoning (which they will saturate your meal with when your in person) however if you ask for a side, they give you 1. In Past times it had not been that way so when I asked for more (because I had 5 orders) they said there would be an additional charge. I was dumbfounded. I understand this is their business and they take it personally but their customer service is horrible. No apology for their goof ups; just very poor business practices. The I would love to rate this a 1 star but thief food is pretty good. I reached my 3 strikes so...
