I never leave reviews but the manager at Gino’s earned it! I work in food service and am very understanding of mistakes and aware of my own errors as a customer. My boyfriend and I went to Gino’s for dinner after dying to try it for months. We ordered calamari, salad, and garlic knots for appetizers and they were pretty good. I ordered a build your own pasta. The pasta menu I thought was a little confusing, and I thought I ordered angel hair with shrimp and plain vodka sauce. I was brought the penne a la vodka, which has peas and prosciutto in it. I don’t eat pork. I looked at the menu again assuming it was my fault, but decided to ask for them to remake it because I believe it was a misunderstanding between me and the waitress. I was very nice and just asked if it would be possible for them to remake it without the pork. The waitress comes back after speaking to the manager saying that I would have to pay for both entrees if I wanted a new one. I asked to speak to the manager just to understand and maybe explain the situation a little bit better. The manager comes over and immediately starts speaking in an extremely condescending tone to me explaining to me how it’s my fault and that it “CLEARLY states on the menu” that the penne a la vodka has pork in it. I didn’t order the penne a la vodka. She would not let me defend myself and I did not start the conversation being rude or hostile at all towards her whatsoever. She was so rude for no reason. To quote the manager “If I give you a free entree I’m gonna have to do it for everyone. It’s not good for business.” Miss Ma’am you know what else is not good for business??? This little power trip you had because now I’ve told so many people not to eat here lol plus the regular pasta sauce...
Read moreUpdated 06.06.25: Since we were returning to Casselberry from Geneva around dinner time we decided to order online and pick up dinner for ourselves and my parents. Our order including a 20% tip totalled $100. I did use a 10% off code they had sent me in an email. We have been customers of Gino's since they opened in 1986. We always LOVED the stromboli. I ordered a whole stromboli with ham and pepperoni as usual. It seems the crust has changed and the ham is not quality as it had grisly parts and was hard to eat. Also, only two containers of marinara is not enough for a whole stromboli.
We ordered a Greek salad for my parents to share, which seemed nice however they don't offer Greek dressing so that was weird. We ordered house Italian. My parents have some leftover for tonight.
We also purchased 2 Special Calzone and each one only comes with one small container of marinara. My dad was very disappointed as Gino's Marinara has always been so good and to only get one tiny container ruined the meal. Also as another review said the upcharge for adding toppings seems high and if you remove items you don't get a credit.
My granddaughter ordered a pizza with black olives, pepperoni and sausage. The olives were not spread evenly on the pizza leaving some slices with none and others completely covered in olives. Very short on sausage all over. Crust was black on top edges. I recently had far better pizza at my FIL's assisted living restaurant!
Again, disappointing for a restaurant we have always LOVED.
Drove from Casselberry to pick up a calzone and a stromboli from our old favorite pizza shop. We have loved Gino's since it opened and it is definitely...
Read moreI've been going to Gino's since the 1990s. The food at Gino's has ALWAYS been some of the best food in town. The owners and staff at Gino's are fantastic and go above and beyond. The pizza at Gino's is second to none.
It's both sad and hilarious to see the libelous and cowardly statements made in some of these reviews. I have witnessed people at Gino's eat 90% of their pizza and then complain about it to staff to try and get it for free, and the same free loaders and whiners are the ones leaving these ridiculous comments.
And to the idiot who says there are rats, provide proof or your are just like the others above. I have never seen any evidence of rats and also reviewed the state health departments grades of the restaurant and there is ZERO findings of rats. Your lucky the owners don't have their attorney serve you with a libel lawsuit.
To M Mar who says you got a hot soda, your time frame says you were there during the aftermath of HURRICANE IRMA!!! I went in to eat since they were one of the ONLY restaurants in the area open and serving food. You do realize they didn't have electricity in that plaza? My server specifically told us they didn't have Cold 2 liters when we asked to buy one to take home. You are a feeble whiner and the exact type of person I am talking about. You are cancerous to small businesses and probably everything else in your pathetic life. Try using your real name on here coward.
In the day and age of free loaders and cry babies you can be sure to find a majority of them on...
