This place is just great. I'm not familiar with this chain, and I don't know if it's this good everywhere, but the Oxford location is very good. Exceptionally high quality baked goods, and great lattes. I quite like the hot tiramisu latte, myself.
I personally feel a tiny bit out of place in a bakery like this, given that I'm a tall bearded man who usually wears dark clothing, but the workers are always welcoming and kind to me.
They've made my drink wrong a SINGLE time - last week they were very busy and had a long line, and one of the girls behind the counter was being trained, clearly a brand new hire. I ordered a hot butter pecan cappuccino, which they accidentally put brown sugar flavoring in. While walking out, one of the girls ran over and informed me the drink was wrong. I told her it was alright, I'm not picky. She didn't want to let me go without me taking a sip of it. Took a sip, said it was great, gave her a thumbs up. She smiled and went back to the counter. Very pleasant.
Also, thanks, whoever that was....
Read moreWhat a great place! We have been waiting for Tous les Jours Cafe to open in Oxford, Ohio for well over a year. We, since, moved, but near enough to go back to Oxford now and then, as we did today. So happy to see it finally open, so we stopped in for a cappuccino and pastry before heading home. Place was packed and the line growing longer the whole time we enjoyed our snack.
The pastries are numerous and delectable. One self-serves and then takes the pastry to the counter to order coffee. I ordered a chocolate cream donut and my husband had a cranberry cream cheese pastry. Goodness. Both so fresh, flavorful, soft and spongy. Heaven. They were so delicious I forgot to take a photo before it was all but gone.
The staff was very kind and genuinely friendly. The atmosphere feels like it should be a big city coffeeshop. We will definitely return when...
Read moreI think the food is delicious the first couple times it felt more like it was a novel experience so the issues with the place didn't seem as apparent. The prices are a bit more than you would typically spend in Oxford but that can be explained by the overall excellent quality of the baked goods/sweets. The sausage rolls are ok, not the best but not bad. The service is quick and efficient, restocking consistently.
I think perhaps the worst part about the place is that it's very echoey when there's a lot of people in line, sitting, eating, and talking. In addition, they do tend to play music over top so it can become very hard to have a conversation, and can be come uncomfortable to stay in the cafe itself more than a couple minutes do...
