I had high hopes, but in every case, Jefferdon's was a let down; a huge disappointment. First, it took 20 minutes for my server to come to my table, all the while the maitre 'd was fumbling with menus, knowing that I was sitting, unseen, the whole time. After asking the 2nd time for someone to take my order, a server appeared and took down my selection. From that point until my meal arrived was 40 minutes. The place was NOT busy tonight (20 April 2021) 30 minutes into waiting my server came by my table and I asked her if something was wrong with my order, and she apologized for the delay, in that they were short handed. I fully understand this situation in food service these days. Yet, there were tables that were unbussed as well. So the short-handed situation extended beyond the kitchen staff. The men's bathroom was AWFUL--uncleaned everything. And I wondered aloud if my hands could be more clean after handling my personal business than using the lavatory. Restaurant owners and managers don't seem to understand that a restroom's sanitary condition reflects on how tge food was prepared. They should be cleaned every 30 minutes during dinner rush--just three minutes of serious cleaning in each gender's fixtures goes a long way toward providing the assurance that food prep is likewise in a clean environment. And I'm trying to be understanding here, and not being cruel. But this was a lousy experience after a long day. I could've gone to a grocery store deli and had a sandwich made in two minutes--that snd a canned Coke and I would've been served in no time at all. I should've asked for a refund as well, given that my order was luke-warm, not hot. I wish Jefferson's Oxford the best of luck. But nights like tonight will sink this...
Read moreWe brought out of town family and were so embarrassed. If we could give less than one star, we would. We waited almost 2 hours for our order and it was a burger and fish tacos. The server told us for over an hour that our order was coming up. It clearly wasn’t. It was most likely not even entered in. Our terrible experience started with our chips and salsa appetizer. When it finally did arrive, the chips had so much salt on them that it was hard to even swallow. You could see the salt on them. We respectfully sent them back and were brought the same chips. They were not palatable. We kept asking about or order and were told it was almost out for an hour and a half. We finally asked for the manager and she told us they were having printer issues. She told us a lot of kids called in tonight as well. The dining room was almost empty and there were servers everywhere. All of us have worked as servers or owned restaurants, so we know that a printer issue wouldn’t cause one table to not get food for almost two hours. We were as kind as possible but also don’t expect to sit for almost 2 hours waiting for a simple food order. The manager didn’t offer to comp our meal or do anything to hurry it up. She ended up taking $9.00 off our ticket, which was $89.00. What a joke. We were respectful and tipped and tried to remain kind while we sat there for almost two hours waiting for food that was poorly cooked and barely edible. The fries were as over salted as the chips were. It was awful. None of us could even eat the fries. We won’t be back, of course. But we want to let other people know to stay away so they don’t have to suffer through a horrible experience...
Read moreWe went as a date night, and we got seated quickly, and the restaurant was pretty empty except for 2 tables and a couple of people at the bar. Our server was told she had a table as we were being seated but didn't come greet us until 20ish minutes later. She gets our drinks and appetizer order and comes back for our food order. We order our app, it comes out pretty quickly, and then we wait...and wait... and wait. We wait about an hour for our food, and the waitress never comes back to see us. The restaurant is still pretty dead. There are only 5 tables and we are her only table. She walks by and says food should be done soon, and she goes to the restroom. Another 10 mins go by, and she comes out of the restroom and goes into the kitchen. A couple of minutes later, our food comes out. She goes back to the kitchen, and the food for both booths beside us immediately comes out. We ate, my shrimp was overcooked and tough, and my husband's burger was overcooked and very dry. A little later, she drops the check on the table as she is walking past. She quickly comes back for the card and grabs it as she is walking by never stopping. My husband and I always tip about 20%, 10% if the service is rough, but understandably so. This was the first time we didn't tip at all because the service was so awful. I messaged the friend who sat us at a table to see if it was the girls' first night by herself, hoping for an explanation as to why the service was so bad,...
