Normally I try to stay away from leaving reviews, today will be the exception. The Weatern Sizzlin is one of those resturants that I tend to avoid. The food is not what I am accustomed to. As a guest I made it my business to go. I continue to ask myself why. The food was horrible, the service was even worse. The attendant showed up to our table once with the check. We hadn't been there no longer than 20 minutes. Just when I thought it could only get better, we were told no rush. Then why bring us the check.
This would suggest that maybe a half star would reflect the level of service we received, nope. We decided to have lunch there a day later as we prepared to leave Anniston. This amazing woman showed up to our table named Reagan. Immediately she disarmed us with her smile, coupled with her obvious passion and keen sense of service, we took recommendations on what to eat. To tell you that the service was far beyond anything we had expected. Her recommendations were tasty, the service was exceptional, and having her around us only added to the phenomenal day we were having. I would recommend Reagan for all your service needs at the Western Sizzlin. She alone turned a negative review into a positive experience. Thank you...
Read moreQuite disappointed. Went for the breakfast buffet this morning and they changed how they do things, requiring you to pay first (they also no longer give the senior discount so my parents were dismayed to find that out) but once we saw the quality of the food we understood why they want money first cause they probably get a ton of complaints and people not wanting to pay for garbage food.
The food was so bad that most of the staples i usually get on the weekend breakfast buffet have become inedible and just taste absolutely disgusting (sausage patties and links looked and tasted like the cheap banquet brand, thebacon had a weird twang to it and you could tell it was the cheapest bacon they can find because its just odd pieces there are no strips of bacon, the biscuits were cold as soon as they opened so who knows how long they were sitting out before they opened the restaurant, etc.) Yet, they keep raising the prices? Went from 7.99 to $9.99 not including the drink of course which is nearly $3.00.
If they are going to charge more money for food of much worse quality I believe this will be my last time going to this establishment. I get that inflation has hit everyone but serving garbage and expecting us to pay more for...
Read moreWestern Sizzlin is one of the few remaining, reasonably priced buffets out there. I'm not much of a critic when it comes to service since I find service either acceptable or not, but this place's service is well within the acceptable category. As for the food, they have a relatively large variety of food available and it all tastes great. They could try a bit more on their onion rings but everything else is restaurant quality or higher. They also have a large salad bar.
Their lunch prices are great at $9.99 per adult while I find their dinner prices at $13.99 per adult a bit excessive especially considering a drink isn't included so unless you're having water, you'll have to add another $2.99. My father, a senior (60 yo), makes off like a bandit during lunch with their senior deals though. I think it's like $8.49 for lunch, drink included. I'd say check their website but the prices aren't accurate last time I checked.
Overall, it's a great value...
