Proud Larry's — Restaurant in Oxford

Awesome visit....

Location / Atmosphere - Right off of the square, Proud Larry's is in the perfect location to one of the 'hidden treasures' of the US. Oxford MS. Loved the restaurant as we went to Proud Larry's to visit with a friend. Sat upstairs which was a little quieter but still allowed see the lively atmosphere.

Service - Wish that I would have gotten our servers name so that I could mention here in this review and give her kudo's. All around great service. Even though we were there for a visit with an old friend our server made sure that we were 'taken care of' and checked in on us every few minutes

Food and Beverage - Everything that we ordered was perfect. Wouldn't change a thing. I personally would recommend the catfish but will say that everything that our group ordered looked fantastic.

The only thing that I would have liked to change from our visit was to stay a bit longer. The band that was setting up while we were there did a quick 'sound check' and the sounded great. Wish that we could have stayed longer.....

Second time that we've visited and our visit two years ago was just as good. Recommend stopping in the next time your...

Bruce. The manager Bruce. Worst customer service and hospitality approach out of any customer service worker I have ever met. I called to simply ask if the restaurant was hiring and to ask a good time to come bring my resume by and he very rudely told me to never call them and ask that and hung up the phone. This man should not work in the customer service industry. I have been in this industry for several years. I have been a server, bartender, manager, and I have even worked in the kitchen during pressing times. This is never the way to speak to anyone. It is sad because this was my favorite restaurant in oxford. And now I have the least amount of respect for the business if this man is indeed the General Manager. That is sad. That is rude and that is not what the industry is about. There was no need for that type of confrontation. This is probably the worst place to eat in Oxford. I went two weeks ago, food was average, takes two hours to get it. Seems crazy, but gave the benefit of the doubt to them. Go back because some friends wanted to have it. We wait an hour. I get this burger, that had an entire bottle of Worcestershire sauce poured on top of it. They said, “it’s normal”. Well the burger ordered next to me didn’t have any and on the menu it says it doesn’t have any. It was so bad one bite made my mouth burn for an hour. They make a new one, explain the first one is bad because I ordered it medium rare? So I get a new one and they said they made it medium-well, so “it would be better”. This burger comes out, the outside is browned, I take one bite… the inside is literal raw, ground beef. I like rare burgers normally, this was raw. I had a time crunch because these two awful burgers took 1&1/2 hours to make. I left and now feel terrible. 0/10,...
