UPDATE: TO THE OWNERS OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT:
I still say that Jasmine has my favorite food in Paducah... However... Today was a TERRIBLE experience with the manager of it. Please read this carefully, and read it again if need be. That manager, who I have never seen in there before, will ABSOLUTELY chase your customers away. Here's what happened (at approximately 4:20pm, Sunday, April 14th): I ordered Pad Thai with extra peanuts cooked in it and extra on the side to put on the top. Our sweet waiter was busy at the time our food came up and so the manager brings it out. I ask him for the peanuts for the side and he ARGUES with me that they are cooked in it. I told him again that I wanted some on the side, to which he SNIDELY responds with "well then I'll have to charge you for them." Listen closely, owners... When I order something EXTRA I don't care if I have to pay extra for it. I sure don't want an argument for my asking. My boyfriend and I spent the remainder of our meal CHAFFED at the audacity of this so called manager.
Here it is: I have BEEN the manager, and it goes without saying that you NEVER argue with a customer for something as simple as a request for an extra item. You sure don't stand and make a scene with a customer who isn't trying to start trouble and simply wants some more peanuts. It cost 70 cents for the extra peanuts and let's be honest here... If I was worried about 70 cents I wouldn't be there at Jasmine.
Two star deduction for the manager.
REVIEW WRITTEN PRIOR: Jasmine restaurant NEVER fails me and remains my very favorite place to eat while home in Paducah Kentucky. I've always joked that the interior looks like something that belongs in California as it is lit up with red ambiance around the bar and above the booths and is so stylishly decorated. The music playing ranges from a nice trance style, to a very current pop feel. Seated in a booth is a comfortable experience, while taking in the rest of the atmosphere.
The wait staff is, bar none, the best Paducah has to offer... As they're quick on their feet and very attentive. They ensure that your requests for "no this" or "extra that" are followed to a tee.
But all of this is not as impressive if the food isn't mentioned. My ABSOLUTE favorite food in Paducah is the Chicken Pad Thai which is a flat rice noodle, with chicken, vegetables, tofu and a delicious semi sweet sauce mixed in. Crushed peanuts are brought to the table to pour on the top, and it is my personal favorite to order extra of them... As they make the dish simply splendid. I've, also, had the pleasure of trying their sushi, as well, and it is fantasticly fresh and worth a try.
All of these things together make this a super high Rikki Recommends...
Read moreThis is a really nice restaurant for the area… I wouldn’t call it a Thai place, more of an Asian Cuisine because they make a lot more than just Thai Food here, and it’s usually on point.
I say usually because normally everything here is absolutely amazing, but some times? You might get them on an off day, which we all have. I understand consistency matters in this industry, but perfection is a completely different word, and standard. It’s not like the restaurant has a Michelin Star or anything like that! It does have a health inspection rating of “A” which is kinda rare in this area.
Having said that? My favorite dish here is their Sesame Chicken because it’s more of a Chinese Style, but served with Thai style fried rice, and it’s delicious! We also tried different sushi rolls and some of them came out amazing, and a few weren’t what we expected.
But overall it’s a great place to eat with good portions of food for the money you’re spending. If you eat there, the staff that serves you are very nice and professional. We have had problems with the front desk kids at times when we ordered for pickup.. I guess because of our appearance, they like to stereotype here & either get scared of us or feel people that look like us (tattoos & piercings) shouldn’t be able to afford to eat here. Like one time, the young girl asked me to wait for my order, & then immediately picked up all the money from the tip box because I guess she was afraid I might try to steal it? Hahaha, And then before she handed me my order asked me if I was a grubhub worker, when I said no? She then asked if I paid for my order. When anything over $40 has to be paid up front which was a little offensive. Same with my wife, who is also tattooed everywhere. They refused to give her our order one day after we already paid for it until the manager came over & had to approve it. So there’s that.
But all in all? Thanks for all the times you guys/gals provided us with a great dinner for our family! We really enjoyed it once you felt comfortable enough to give...
Read moreMy wife and I were returning from Florida and we stopped at this restaurant on the way home to Illinois. We have had Thai food at numerous locations in various states and have never had a bad experience...until this one. Even though it's in Paducah, KY we figured we couldn't go wrong with Thai because it is typically so flavorfully delicious, but this place really sucked. Truly our first and only bad experience with Thai, and we have had it at least 100 times at different restaurants. Perhaps they had a new cook that night but the food was lacking flavor. The orders were correct and we received the meat, but the noodle dishes (Pad Kee Mao equivalent) and the (Tom Kha) soup did not have flavor. It was as if the key ingredients were missing. We stopped in and placed a take out order to eat on the drive the rest of the way home, otherwise I would have given it back to have them remake it (if we were dining in). Totally unacceptable. It wasn't busy that night but we waited an exceptionally long time to receive the food, so something must have been up that night. If we were living in the area I would expect it to be credited to us the next time we came in. If you are looking for Thai food WITH FLAVOR, I would NOT...
