As a Teppanyaki style steakhouse, there are some expectations when you walk in. You pay for the experience, the atmosphere, and the energy as much as the food. The general experience that you pay a premium for includes soup, salad, shrimp appetizer, your choice of white or fried rice, your main entre, and the showmanshipmof your chef along with fantastic service.
When I saw that Tokyo Hibachi seperated out this experience and nickle and dimes you to death it immediately took the sense of wonder and awe that i expect to feel and replaced it with something else.... my experience was not fun, it was sullen.
It is not about the cost of the meal. I have come to expect a true Teppankaki meal to be on the high end. It is a fine dining alternative. I qould have rather had the entre cost increased rather than place each item provided during the experience a monetary value. Instead of enjoying the show, now im curious if I am getting the same amount of rice as another person, hey that guy got more mushrooms, or that lady has more shrimp than i do. My experience is shattered.
The service here was good. Our chef was personable but there was no show, no tricks that I have come to expect from a Teppanyaki.
No chop sticks, single fork and paper napkin. Sauce bowls are only half filled. The shrimp appetizer was not present, rather all persons who ordered shrimp were served their entre at the beginning of the meal. The "soup" now costs $2.50, it has not changed. Still broth with a thinly sliced mushroom and a couple slivers of scallion. Salad is also $2.50, still just iceberg lettuce with seaseme ginger dressing. Fried rice is $3.20 and now consists of rice, seasoning, and a little ground pork. My Fillet and Scallops were $26.
I would have rather paid $35 for my entre and had all of the items included in the experience. I can say that on a night when most of the surrounding restaurants were full up, Tokyo Hibachi had multiple empty tables, i cant help but wonder if itnis because they have robbed people of the Teppanyaki experience for the sake of the nickle and dime...
Read moreTokyo Hibachi: A Gastronomic Nightmare Tokyo Hibachi has truly outdone itself in redefining the meaning of "rock bottom" in the dining industry. On June 16, what started as an eagerly anticipated Father's Day feast quickly spiraled into a stomach-churning debacle that has left me questioning humanity's sense of decency and safety. I'm rushing to write this review while I still can, just in case my digestive system stages a full-blown rebellion after our visit to this culinary house of horrors. Please don't mistake my humor for satire--it's the only thing keeping me from losing my cool after the management's astounding display of disrespect.
Upon arrival, the ambiance seemed promising, with lively decor and the sizzling sounds of the hibachi grill. However, this facade quickly crumbled as soon as the main course hit the table. The meat was served with a distinct odor--an immediate red flag. One bite was all it took to confirm our worst fears: the meat was rancid.
In a rare moment of honesty, the chef admitted to the entire table that the meat was indeed spoiled. Shock and disbelief swept across our faces as we grappled with the fact that we had been served tainted food knowingly.
When we requested compensation for this culinary catastrophe, the restaurant's female manager response was nothing short of appalling. Instead of a heartfelt apology or any form of compensation, we were met with hostility. The management flat-out put her hand in my face while talking on her cell phone and refused to address our concerns and even threatened to call the law on us if we persisted in our demands for a refund.
Tokyo Hibachi has shown a blatant disregard for customer health and satisfaction. Serving rancid meat, admitting to its poor quality, then threatening patrons who seek recompense is beyond unacceptable. This place is a health hazard and a disgrace to the food service industry. Avoid Tokyo Hibachi at all costs unless you wish to risk your health and be treated with...
Read moreHad an awful time here tonight. I have visited this restaurant for 10yrs and now will never return. We took our 11yr old here for his birthday tonight. Made reservations 2 days ago for 10people- our family. Waited 30 min past our reservation time, never complained. Was sat and ordered food, drinks, appetizers. Right at the time the chef came out to cook another family was sat right next us, as in the next chair at the habachi table! What? This isn’t supposed to happen in a COVID world. I nicely got up and informed the manager I felt uncomfortable with this, she was kind and told me she understood and would move the party of 4 that was just sat to another table. Then the owner came and place a single chair between our party and the other party...so now they was 2ft apart with no masks as everyone is sitting to eat....and what is a chair supposed to do for spreading germs? When I informed the owner that I was still not comfortable with this he made my entire family get up and kicked us out....yes You heard that right! He told us that this was his business and he did not care what the state guidelines were about 6ft apart and that we needed to leave because we were uncomfortable with complete strangers being sat directly at the same table and next to us during this pandemic. I have never been treated so bad or been so embarrassed by simply asking to have state guidelines followed at a restaurant. I would strongly advise to NEVER...
