Cold Stone Creamery — Restaurant in Paducah

Not your typical Cold Stone experienceere. We were excited to hear a cold stone was coming to our hometown Paducah. The first few times we thought service was poor because they were new but few years later and we are still not welcomed like all other cold stones do when customers come in the door. There is no greating or happy servers. They seem understaffed and the long wait is miserable with no typical coldstone atmosphere. The few tables they have in their large lobby will be dirty upon arrival and Ive yet to have a manager realize there is anything wrong with their establishment. Todays particular visit they had 3 tables and 10 chairs stacked on the wall and I asked a manager if our party of 4 adult 2 kids could use them because the lobby had 26 people in line and tables were full. She said "No, there is a party coming in an hour. We will need them in an hour." (Which would had been 830pm) It doesnt take anyone an hour to eat ice cream. Luckily a table cleared for us but the people after us had to stand or left w their ice cream. Paducah has a sad excuse for a Cold Stone Creamery. We came at 8:15 on a Sunday night. The 2 girls manning the front were amazing. They were working as hard and as fast as they could while more and more people kept pouring in. There was a third girl who was working and she had been told to go home by the manager while the place had a line out the door. The two up front were exhausted and overwhelmed. When I asked where their manager was I, was told she was on vacation but made the call to cut staff when they were so clearly overwhelmed and doing the best they could. They ran out of several items and when I tried to pay with cash, the drawer popped and there was no change because the safe was broke. It’s a holiday weekend. I used to run/manage this place under the previous owners and I’m so sad to see that the care of the workers, the ones that make this place run when its owners and managers are off lack the consideration that on Labor Day weekend, when it’s hot and people will want a cold treat, the place is left with a skeleton crew and cutting staff seemed to be a great idea. That’s not fair. They were wonderful and they were struggling. And kept going. Rethink your managing...

2/19/2022 5:30pm. Four of us each tried different flavors. Was our first visit. First off the ice cream tasted great, really good flavors and very tasty. Better than other places we have been to. There were about 6 people in front of us. More came in as we waited so they were busy. Only 2 employees working. Observing how things were going in front of us it was apparent that the employees were less than enthused to be there. Our turn came. Let's just say there was no smiles and a careless attitude. I/we tried to be friendly . Had a couple questions and it obviously was an inconvenience that we were there. I feel sure they were ready to be anywhere but working. But that's your job. We are the type that will be understanding with things but a least try to make the best of it and treat customers nicer. Will be awhile till we return simply because of...
