Hugo’s Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Paducah

The food here is okay, but nothing special. The atmosphere is nothing impressive, and borders dull. The biggest issue with this place is the service. If you order takeout, expect to pack a lunch to eat while you wait! I waited over 25 minutes past my pickup time, so long that the person I was picking up the food for called me twice to make sure I was still coming!! I did not receive a single apology, but the guy (I am guessing the owner/manager as he is there a lot and seems to have authority) working the counter almost made me feel like an imposition. He got upset that I kept asking about the food, but I literally asked when I got there, asked about 5 minutes later for an ETA, which he was rude about, and then asked again a while later when I saw my order sitting in the window being ignored. Tasty taco salad with mixed meat, chicken & steak, no fried tortilla bowl. Portion is small though. Chicken wasn't dry/overcooked. Indulged in a fried ice cream for dessert which was good but I'd recommend a sugar/cinnamon dusting for the fried bowl. Waitress was on point. Bathroom was sleek, clean, modern and beautiful. Music is too loud and too fast. I was not impressed with the salsa that came with the chips before the meal arrived. It was bland and just needs improvement. In summary, more garlic and seasoning for the salsa and increase the portion size, please. I was still hungry and that's why I ordered dessert. $33 for 2 adults for 2 cokes, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, tip not included, so price was fair & expected. I'll give 4...

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but I doubt I’ll ever go back.

The last couple of times I’ve been there, the staff has acted like it was an inconvenience to help me. I enjoyed the food enough that I would let that slide, but tonight I decided just to make a pickup order…….,big mistake.

I ordered online, and showed up at the restaurant 25 minutes later only to find out they hadn’t even started the order. The bad thing is, THERE WERE NO CUSTOMERS so it wasn’t because they were busy. After I waited an additional 15 minutes to finally get my order (40 minutes at this point), there was no apology or anything, in fact the girl looked annoyed that she had to hand me my order.

That was the last straw. I am done...
