My mom and I stayed at this hotel during the AQS Quill Show. It was chosen because the reviews said it was clean and we reserved a non smoking room. When we arrived the first room we were given had an ashtray in in and it smelled like smoke. We were given another room that also smelled like smoke. The third room thankfully did not smell and appeared clean. The first thing I did after bringing our luggage in was to check my bed for bed bugs. I do this regardless of the hotel. I found popcorn in my bed. I went to the front desk and let them know and was given a new set of sheets. I went to the bathroom and discovered used towels behind the bathroom door. My mom wanted to take a bath when she saw the tub she knew a bath was out of the question. She cleaned the tub just so she could take a quick shower. The front desk individual was amazing, when she was shown everything she fought with the manager to get money returned although it was only $20. The next morning we let the morning front desk individual know we wanted the room cleaned before we came back from our day at the quilt show. We filled her in on our issues and she kindly informed us that the individuals that clean do not change the sheets if someone only stayed one night. Needless to say we were grossed out by this. We got back after 3:00 and they were just getting to our room to clean it. When they were cleaning they did not take the dirty towels from behind the door. Please don't stay here unless you have to and if you do bring your own bedding. I have attached pictures.

You get what you pay for. NO FREE BREAKFAST. Also, I accidentally got the smoking room 🤢 I didn’t realize that was still a thing, it reeked of smoke, the fire alarm was removed (safety issue), and there was cigarette burns everywhere (bedding, curtains, floor, shower…) It was wiped down but didn’t feel clean. I asked for non-smoking and apparently offended the worker who said if I was staying multiple nights he could possibly accomidate. Truth is most places claimed no vacancy, so it was the third or fourth hotel I tried. I was afraid to sleep on the bed and examined for bed bugs (I didn’t see any). We survived - other than the smoking issue it seemed nicely furnished with working facilities, fridge, microwave and free Wi-Fi. The location is great just off the interstate and right next to Walmart with a gas station. Loved the luggage carts😉

This is a great Econolodge!! I don't know where all the bad reviews are coming from....unless folks are holding this hotel at a standard higher than they should. This is not a Marriott, nor does it claim to be....it's literally in the name of the hotel.....ECONOlodge....budget friendly, modest hotel. I have stayed at several Econolodge locations, and this is easily one of the best! There were no bugs in my room as people claimed in some reviews....it was not in disrepair....it was actually quite updated and modern!!! Most importantly it was clean, and comfortable!! The staff was friendly and welcoming...no complaints! Other than the pool being closed....that was a bummer since it's so hot, but I'm grown and got over it. Don't let the bad reviews keep you from a good night that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Stay here!

I stayed at this hotel a couple of months ago for a couple of days and I experienced terrible service upon check in. The older gentleman has the WORST attitude that I've ever seen. He only greets white men. He never speaks to or greets ANY woman. Very rude and chauvinistic.

He overcharges and changes rates depending on who is checking in. This is completely wrong and illegal. One minute he quotes me $82, then quoted another guest $90 for same room. I can't believe he gets away with this. Then they charged me an extra $5 on my card because I did not pay in cash.

I also heard they price gouged guests during the quilt show. They tripled prices on their guests that had already been staying there and this is illegal.

There is no coffee or welcoming vibe in the lobby. No breakfast, no crackers, snack, nothing to make guests feel "at home." NONE of the vending machines work on the property, ice machine is noisy and clunky. Everything is outdated.

The hotel needs to be updated badly. My room was upstairs and the steps are completely falling apart and wobbly. I nearly stumbled and twisted my ankle. Its dangerous trying to climb the steps. The pool had no water in it and there is garbage and trash blowing in the grass all over the property.

There are also at least 10 walmart shopping carts near the staircase. I assume some guests go to the store and walk back with these carts. The manager should have returned these carts back to walmart by now as the store is right behind the hotel basically. This is so tacky to keep these on the property.

Some guests are loud and noisy in the parking lot at night. There needs to be some rules about what they are allowed to do and not do. Loud cars and music at 3 am. Weed smells, arguments, and police showing up late at night are very common at this hotel.

There is ALOT of noise early in the mornings from the hotel staff. Loud lawn mowers and leaf blowers blowing at 7 or 8 am waking people up while sleeping. Its ridiculous. Guests being able to rest should be the most important thing to the management.

My room was average. The floors looked like they had NEVER been mopped. The air conditioner leaked water onto the floor. Bedspreads are as thin as the sheets and wont keep any guests warm as thin as they are.

There is dirt and grime on the silver parts of the door frame and wall. Looks like mold was in the corner near the base of the wall by the table and chairs. Possibly from the water dripping out of the AC.

There is no lamp near the table and chairs. So the lighting in the room is limited with there only being the couple of lights on the wall near the bed and tv.

The walls are dirty with finger prints and some kind of stains. They obviously haven't been wiped down. I don't think anything in this room has been wiped.

Housekeeping does NOT provide service daily if you stay more than one night. You may as well clean your own room. If you run out of toilet paper, the old man will get angry at the desk if you request someone bring a roll to your room.

Towels were ok but I noticed if you ask for clean towels, you have to wait until they wash the dirty ones that you turned in and they bring those back to you. I've NEVER heard of this at any other motel. Sheets looked clean but mattresses are OLD and full of stains. Gross!

The tv was decent with lots of channels. BUT sometimes the cable service is spotty and freezes up and you can't watch it long. The wifi is ok but sometimes it was limited and had problems connecting.

There is no iron, no coffee pot or any extras in the room. Small microwave and fridge that were decent.

The water pressure is ALWAYS low and the water is only hot for like 3 minutes when trying to take a shower. I honestly think they purposely turn the water down as well as the temperature of it.

Toilet was not clean, bathtub had NOT been cleaned after the last guest checked out. There was hair and grime in the tub. Bathroom floor hadn't been mopped, mirror had stains, old soap still on tub.

Oh and the BEDBUGS were terrible. The place is NOT...

UPDATE!!!** It started off OK.. check in , clean room. We were out for a majority of the time, got back around 2am. I went right to sleep, my boyfriend watched TV for another hour. Around 4am, I awoke and my face was on fire, I had 2 Large welts on my face I opened the light and we checked the bed... BED BUGS!!! I took pictures of them, we visually could find adults running on the sheets and behind the mattress close to the wall. One was filled with blood. We went down to the office, I had one bed bug in a tissue. The night manager didn't seem too concerned, told me to toss the bug in the trash...gave some excuse about house keeping missing them or something like that. I showed him my welts and he was like " what time did you check in??.... and youre only noticing this now??!! Why yes...we only noticed them at night time during the dark because they hide and when it gets dark they come out to search for a blood meal. It's not like they come out during the day. All we got was to change rooms, so we did. Switched to a non smoking room that was hot and humid and smelled like an ashtray. Had to deal with the room phone ringing and hanging up. In the morning we went back to the office and told our story again. The manager came over...he didn't seem like he cared, said he had not had any complaints about bed bugs before and that it probably wasn't bed bugs like I was lying... the lady at the desk mumbled told ya so to him. Look... I'm a 46 year old woman, I know what bed bugs look like. I asked for compensation, they said having the room changed was compensation. They took my information, said something about exterminator would check to confirm and I'd get a call. I want my MONEY BACK, FULLY REFUNDED for this aggravation. Now WE have to worry about ensuring all our belongings in that room we bring home are not infested with the bed bugs because they will now infest our home. Please take what we experienced as the truth and do something about it before the other rooms get them too! I want my money back, we will not be back to this location if we are in Paducah in the future. Please contact me !! Room #117 is the bed bug room!!! Room 121 is the one we were transferred to. (Original Review - Affordable price, clean room, convenient location to downtown Paducah and to the casino in IL, good for a weekend. Friendly staff member at check in , she was fast...

Had problems the whole time I was staying at this establishment. The housekeeper was trying to sneak into clients rooms. The housekeeper came to me at 1 in the afternoon while I was outside and said he was going to call the law because I was talking to loud on a conference call. Also the housekeeper drinks and spit on me one night while he was intoxicated and even asked me a guest for a cigarette from me which shouldn't of even happen since I was a paying customer. Also found out the housekeeper has been in trouble for touching a 6 year old girl in the past and was aloud to just walk around the kids unmonitored,WHICH IS SICKENING AS I AM A FATHER TO A 7 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. There is trash all over the property from lack of groundskeeping cleaning up trash. The owner was extremely rude on many occasions and threatened to kick you off the property if you say something he does not agree with and yells at you like you are nothing. Was given no towels and had to purchase my own. I do have to say that the location is perfect but almost doesn't matter when the staff and ownership treats it's guests like the are nothing and so disrespectful. ADVISE EVERYONE TO TAKE A SECOND THOUGHT BEFORE CHECKING INTO THIS ESTABLISHMENT ON 5120 HINKLEVILLE ROAD PADUCAH,KY. AS THERE ARE MULTIPLE HOTELS THAT ARE NICER AND CHEAPER THAN THE RATES AT THIS HOTEL....... Guest beware of rodent problems as well.. Also, if there is problems with your room then you are not allowed to change rooms as quote on quote " the guest have to check the room as soon as they walk in the room and once your bags are unpacked you have to stay...
