Checkers — Restaurant in Palm Coast

We were in town for a music festival that ended late and we were hungry. We love Checkers and it's always been our go to late night after concert food choice. We were staying just down the road and pulled into our favorite to get some late night goodness First off, it took forever to get someone to take our order. Yes, they were busy as they were lots of people getting out of the concert. We pulled up the window of chaos. They had literally 3 people working and they were confused. The poor guy at the window was so frazzled he couldn't even get us our drinks. Asked us what we had and then walked off to never be seen again. Literally 15 minutes of sitting there, he comes back throws a bag of food at us and tells us they're short staffed and walks off.. still NO drinks. We sit there another 5 minutes waiting. Trying to get someone's attention but they're all in the back. He finally comes back to ask us what we need and we say... AGAIN.. DRINKS! Finally got drinks and left. The WORST Checkers experience ever. We tried to go back 2 nights later. To see if this was just a one off experience since it was a Thursday night. Went back on Saturday night to two cars sitting in the drive thru yelling hello because no one would take their order. So we left. Shame on you, Checkers. Get these people some help and some supervision to support them or close this location...

I went up to the empty drive thru at 930pm on 12/03/22, and the employee was clearly not paying attention and confused about something else. I asked for a minute to order, and gave her that much time and more to focus on my order. I ordered the 5 piece chicken tenders with a Dasani and loaded fries. She repeated back an incorrect order with a Sprite. I corrected her and drove up to the window. She quickly repeated an order to me and figuring that there was no one in front of me and no one behind me at the time, there would be no reason for the wrong order. However, she did hand me an incorrect order. She took my money which was strangely the same amount as my order, and then I proceeded to tell her it was the wrong order. SHE GOT UPSET AT ME, wow, I did not mess up my order, and whether I heard you correctly or not, I am the customer not the other way around, I should not be responded to by saying, "THAT'S WHAT I ASKED YOU!" She then started humming incessantly, and ignoring the employee asking her a question. She attempted to compose herself and handed me the correct order, but she still messed up...I never got my Dasani. I was halfway home, and no way was I returning to be treated that way. In all honesty I should not be eating this clogging food, so I won't be a hypocrite, but if I did I would not return there. FYI- I never was asked nor...

Was our first time visiting. The people in front of us got a double order but employee didn't realize they made 2 and gave them both to her. The guy in front of me ordered a drink and a chili dog (the most basic order) and they forgot his drink. We ordered and all was correct except for the cashier charging us for a combo meal which included drinks PLUS another 2 drinks which overcharged us $5 more. We had to have her correct the amount. Not sure if the cashier was new and was the one throwing everyone off, but just seemed everyone was frazzled. She had to ask for help. Employee comes over to assist with gloves on and coughed right into their glove. That did it for us. Hopefully, they will get everything sorted and employees will use proper hygiene when handling food. Same employee was seen exiting the back to outdoors. Went to a vehicle without food, possibly for a break. Was still wearing their gloves. We probably will never be back but hope they use this review to correct the situation. *We see the comment below our review but we wasted enough of our time on poor service and writing everything here in detail. * Also, it seems as though folks are giving 5 star ratings and then others giving only 1 or 2 stars which usually means, they are getting folks to give great reviews to keep their ratings up....
