My experience as a patron of LG's Prime Steakhouse, can be summed up with one ugly word,...DISCRIMINATION!! I am more upset about it this morning, than I was while in the midst of it, last night, and am STRONGLY considering legal action!
After viewing the menu online, I reserved a table for two, at 7:45pm. I was greeted at the maitre d podium, by a rather haggard looking woman wearing a yellow short sleeved blouse, with little black human skulls all over it. She said that there was a dress code, and that I could not dine there, without sleeves on my shirt. As she was saying this to me, a couple was exiting the restaurant, one of whom was indeed wearing a sleeveless shirt. To put it into context, I was wearing fitted designer jeans, an Armani dress belt, Stacy Adams Madison Boots, and a black Versace sleeveless shirt...dressed for the heat of the environment of Palm Springs, but by no means inappropriate. My look was TASTE CENTRAL! Not wanting to cause a problem, I offered to go home, change, and then return, which I did. Once seated....in the back near the rest rooms..I noticed a literal parade of men walking by in gym shorts..tennis shoes...and baseball caps! All of which are pretty much the standard, even at night, in Palm Springs....EXCEPT FOR ME!! I happen to be a Black GAY MALE. I can't say if the discrimination is racially based..or gender based(As the person who exited the establishment in a tank top, as I was being told that I could not dine there, was a woman.)...or some corporate "family values" policy against same sex couples. Whatever the reason, it is unacceptable! If that weren't bad enough....I made the reservation online after viewing the menu online. Under appetizers, they have a picture of bacon wrapped scallops. They looked great, and was major factor in my decision to make the reservation. Once seated, I ordered it, and was surprised to be presented with seared scallops with bacon "bits" sprinkled about. When I informed the server that it was not what I ordered, he said," We don't offer those anymore." I responded.."Why is it still on the website? Why didn't you tell me that when I ordered it? Why did you just assume that I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, or that I would just accept this substitution without question??" He simply shrugged his shoulders as he removed it from my table. OVERALL...A HORRID EXPERIENCE!!! I can say without hesitation, that NEVER in this lifetime, will I be returning to lg's. In Palm Springs, or any other...
Read moreThis is an interesting restaurant that was at one time the very best steakhouse in the valley. They dry age on the premises and carry prime beef; ceasar salads are fun too. I’ve been guest of a few large dinner parties here and then decided to work here a few years later. The one thing that stood out most as an employee was the wastage. I’ve never seen so many steaks get rung in incorrectly and have to be re ordered. Food costs must be very high. One of the issues here are that certain management have no idea how restaurant flow works. You’d see 28 people in certain server’s section by 7pm while the 2-3 other servers have 2 tables each with a total guest count around 10. At that point every busy night you’d see about 15-20% of the large table’s steaks get rung in incorrectly. As the best PDR server I was left rolling my eyes every Friday and Sat at the simple mistakes that could have been avoided. I believe at least two servers were paying front desk for higher guest count; at the expense of guest experience. There was a manager named Forrest who was great and understood restaurant flow but after he left the restaurant was hopeless. The other managers Greg and Mima were like deer in the headlights when it came to a busy night. I remember seeing a manager put so much effort in to giving people free drinks when they refuse a refill but won’t go near the back section that is missing two steaks at each table until their new steak is out. Savvy diners notice. The main strengths here are longevity, good brand and simple delicious menu. Main weaknesses here are food wastage, and lack of fine dining table skills when it comes to framing, crumbing, wine service etc; also treatment of female employees. If you keep in mind this is casual dining, then you’ll be better prepared for the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at LG's Steakhouse, and I must say, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel right at home.
The ambiance of the restaurant is elegant and inviting, with dim lighting and tasteful decor. It's the perfect place for a romantic night out or a special celebration. The attention to detail in every aspect of the dining experience truly sets LGS Steakhouse apart.
Now let's talk about the star of the show – the food. The menu at LG's Steakhouse is a meat lover's dream. Every cut of steak is cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside and a juicy, tender center. Whether you prefer a classic ribeye or a mouthwatering filet mignon, you won't be disappointed.
But it's not just the steaks that shine at LG's Steakhouse. The side dishes are equally divine. The truffle mashed potatoes are creamy and luxurious, while the grilled asparagus has the perfect amount of char. And don't even get me started on the desserts – they are absolute works of art.
What truly sets LG's Steakhouse apart, however, is the exceptional service. The waitstaff is knowledgeable, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that every diner has a memorable experience.
Overall, I can't recommend LG's Steakhouse enough. It's a dining destination that combines delectable food, impeccable service, and a fantastic atmosphere. Whether you're a steak aficionado or simply looking for a top-notch dining experience, LG's Steakhouse is the place to go. Trust me, you won't be...
