I donāt write reviews unless i have a memorable experience and this place for sure made me feel a type of way.
To start, the time i was given that said when it would be ready was about 15-20 mins. I was about 25 away so i placed it and assumed it would be ready when i get there. It was not. Not only was it not ready but i waited for 45mins to an hour when i got there. So realistically it took them an hour and a half to make my food. I understand itās about dinner time and a busy night. Iād expect that from a local place with āgoodā food. I did not expect the times to be off by almost an hour though. I walk in and the place is so hot i felt dizzy. Lights flickering and just overall small and packed. Everyone was shoulder to shoulder and nearly breathing down each others necks. Again i understand to an extent. The food was priced above normal but thatās besides the whole deal. Everyone there said theyād been waiting for over an hour which was dreadful to hear.
By the time my food was ready i walked up to get it. Cold. Cold pizza. I ordered one pizza and one cheesy bread. Cold food. I also ordered extra sauce and i was only given one so i went up to ask for the rest and was almost charged for it. The poor lady didnāt know as she was in a rush (only person up front with like 20 boxes to hand out and everyone in her face) but i had said its on my receipt so she just gave it to me Clearly frustrated. (Maybe with me or maybe since she was overwhelmed i dont know) I felt bad because i didnāt wanna argue but at the same time i paid for the extras and didnāt get them all. Food was good but not worth the wait. If someone wanted to eat here you should probably go on a day thatās not busy, perhaps a week day? Iām not sure when the best time is. The pizza was good for being cold so i bet it would taste great fresh. Unfortunately i didnāt get that experience. I really was excited to eat here considering the reviews but those expectations fell short. I really would like to give benefit of the doubt since it was super busy and probably their busiest time of the week. I just wish i was given a more accurate time since i had things to do. I also hope that you guys staff more if you know itās going to be busy like that. The woman up front was nice and trying her best. People were being rude and giving her attitude but she just kept pushing to get these boxes out with a smile. Itās understandable from all points but maybe the place could improve by just getting an extra person up front and a good fan . Maybe become more organized. I wish i got a refund but they werenāt giving them to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreZOLLOS PIZZA ā AYYYYY OHHHHH!!! THIS MAN DELIVERED SALVATION TO A WOMAN WHO LOOKED LIKE SHE CRAWLED OUT OF A GUTTER WEARING REGRET AND PEPPERONI SWEAT.
Itās 1am. I am:
ā 8 drinks deep ā shoeless ā wearing an oversized BOYS FROM THE HOOD shirt that may or may not be inside out ā holding onto one final shred of hope with the strength of a cracked acrylic nail.
I stumble into the hotel lobby like a feral Disney side character, and there he is: The Zolloās pizza guy.
Calm. Unfazed. Like I wasnāt standing there lookinā like someone who just got kicked off a Greyhound for scream-singing Evanescence.
I looked him dead in the eyeāone open, the other drifting toward darknessāand I said:
āYou. Are. A LIFESAVER. Every single food choice Iāve made in this godforsaken town has been a war crime. You are the light. You are the crust.ā
And this legend? Starts spilling secrets like heās breakinā outta the witness protection program. āDonāt eat at anything that even looks like a chain restaurant or thatās across the street from the beach,ā he says. āYou want real food? Go inland at least five minutes. Otherwise, youāre paying $30 for disappointment and a side of E. coli.ā I swear to God I saw his aura. It smelled like garlic knots and justice.
Now the pizza? Better than it had any business being. If Dominoās went to rehab and found Jesus, youād get this pie. Thin, crispy crust. Great sauce. Cheese that stayed in its damn lane. I bit into it and saw my higher self on a Vespa flippinā off a crab shack.
The wings? Oven-baked perfection. Crispy with a personality. They tasted like theyāve been through a divorce but came out stronger. Exactly what I needed to anchor my soul to something besides chaos and carbs.
Would I eat here while sober and emotionally stable? No. Iād be making better choices. But at 1am, dressed like a rejected background actor from Spring Breakers and drunk enough to yell āSLAYā at the ice machine? This was my Roman Empire.
Zolloās didnāt just feed me. They saved my life...
