I've been wanting to try this restaurant for quite a while. I've read other great reviews about it and seen other pictures and I was sold based on those. I grew up in SoCal and have been searching for Mexican food as good ever since I left (13 years ago). It is a quaint little "hole in the wall" shop on Harrison Ave. The overall feel of the atmosphere felt like a nice family oriented atmosphere. Traditional decor. The waitress we had was very pleasant and checked on us frequently. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered quite a bit of food (way too much for just himself, but who's judging 😉). The salsa was probably the best salsa I have ever had! Everything was so good! We will definitely be back and this may actually be our new favorite place to eat at!

After a whole decade of living in Panama city I finally ate at maddies. BOY THAT FOOD IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL. ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE. To say the food is good is an understatement. You can tell that even with the struggles of the pandemic they cook every meal as if at home for their family. The street tacos are to die for but the specialty items here are mind blowing. Especially for a pretty generic white guy like myself. The wait staff was very nice and helpful both times I ate here (within 24 hours cause yea its that good) and after being told they serve Lengua I will most certainly be back. If you are considering dining here stop considering it and just do it. You won't regret it!

This was a nice little surprise. I came in just looking for some Mexican food, not really expecting much from this tiny mom and pop operation. But right from the jump the servers were quick and super nice, the menu was easy, the food was premo (the mexican sausage tortas were legitimatly some of the best food i have put in my mouth), The atmosphere was comfortable and authentic, and from what I understand most Fridays you can see these guys performing (very talented). 10/10 will he dinning here agian. I would love to see this restruant thrive for a long long time, cuase it's probably my new favorite.

You won't be open long. I took my wife there last night because I had eaten there several times and had loved it,, told her it was the best Mexican food I had ever had.. Bragged on you a lot.. So she ordered grilled fish as depicted on your menu, what came out was not only fried but it was burned beyond edibilty. The 2 for one all day margaritas? Sure, all the margarita mix you can drink, not one drop of tequila. I asked for some extra sour cream and guacamole only to be told "we're out of guacamole" Excuse me? Please tell me how a MEXICAN RESTAURANT can run out of guacamole?? EVER? So back to my wife trying to get something to eat, she asked our server if she could get her fish grilled (as depicted on your menu) but again the answer was just No. You can't have that either. So she ordered the shrimp dish- oh it really gets good now- so our server brings out a plate with SIX PITIFUL OVERCOOKED SHRIMP ON A LITTLE PLATE, no sides, no sauce, NOTHING. Let's see, anything else? Other than only one restroom being in order and one of the employees apparently having taken up permanent residence therein? Of course no apologies from the owner for any of this crapfest. The worst part, again, is how I had bragged to my wife about how AWESOME this place was. And I have apologized to her ever since for having subjected her to perhaps the most miserable dining out experience ever. You should be ashamed of yourselves and you owe my sweet wife an apology. You deserve to be out of business. Perhaps you think you are entitled to support from customers when you are so apathetic about earning it? I am mad at myself for not having gotten up and left after the 2nd NO but will do my best to spare others the ripoff you rendered us last night. I bragged on you, I feel really...

Had the food here several times, the last time was about 10 months ago or so. When my daughter asked for chips and dip today it was a no brainer to take her here because I remembered how great it was. Let me just say I have never left a restaurant so angry. For starters it felt like we kept getting pushed to the wayside because it was just me and a two year old. We sat for extended amounts of time just waiting for someone to acknowledge us or bring drinks. I had to ask multiple times for a straw, a booster seat, the cheese dip we ordered, etc. I was off put to see that our waitress just microwaved our cheese dip right in front of me and brought it to the table. Didn’t stir it to try to mix the 1 inch film of dried cheese at the top of the bowl or anything. You could clearly tell she didn’t care. Never once were we given more chips or anything. When our food finally came (after about 3 other families who arrived AFTER us) the fajitas were unevenly heated as if again they were just popped into the microwave. Being that she asked me if I wanted them on the hot plate or a regular plate and she chose the regular plate it made it seem highly probable. I told her it didn’t matter what plate they served it on. It wasn’t explained to me that meant grilled or microwaved. The guacamole was a purée as if it was prepackaged, rice was cold. I’m not sure what the changes are that have been implemented in the last 10 months but it has made your quality and experience a complete waste of time and money. I didn’t even eat my fajitas because god knows how long they sat before you microwaved them to serve. Just paid the bill and left. I will not be back. If paying over $18 for microwaved food isn’t your thing I would seek out...

The servers, while not energetic, are friendly. That's about the only positive I feel I can honestly give this place. I don't believe any of the food is cooked there by the taste of it. If it was cheap, I think I could easily give this a higher rating. It's not authentic Mexican food. It's not fresh. The cheese dip is runny, though it has some flavor. The beans are super runny. The rice was flavorless and tasted microwaved. The chicken is definitely canned. I thought it was very strange to serve a chimichanga with THE ENTIRE SALAD on top of it.. Just get bigger plates or small plates to put the salad separately. Also, the walls look like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. There are remnants of what looks like crayons and general scratch marks all over the walls. I wasn't skeptical at all about giving this place a try because of the great reviews this place has, but I just don't see it. The food is not terrible, but certainly not good, and the price is way higher than it should be for the quality it is. This is easily the least impressive Mexican restaurant in town that I've tried so far. Just go to El Jalisco. It's much better for...
