When my order was taken, the 2 white couples were not even in the restaurant. 5-7 min later they came in and placed their orders. When I looked at the time 25 min later, they had all been served, and my table was empty. 4 min later an elderly white couple that came in after the other 2 couples was UPDATED that their order would be out soon. So that means 29 min after I placed my order, I had no food, no update, the blond haired waitress passed by my table at least 5 times and the old white guy(i guess he is your bus boy) looked at me multiple times and said NOTHING. The waitress said NOTHING. No update on my 35 min order...for a sandwich mind you...but the elderly couple gets an update, and everyone else is eating. Since you are explaining stuff, how about you explain to me why 35 min later I didnt have a crab salad sandwich on my table? The black cook that you hired, yeah I saw him, he was in the back cooking. How appropriate. He wasnt a server and I only saw him one time to come get some salad to put on the other couples order. And lets talk about the unapologetic response from the blond haired lady. You can even hear her on the video. She didnt lead with an apology, she got defensive. And I could care less about your weak attempt at my character of calling me a racist because my establishment is not at question here. I dont care if youre arab that does not eliminate you or your staff from treating your patrons differently. Your employees need customer service training on multiple levels.
You think youre tired of being politically correct? Let me tell you about my 42 yr experience with people like your employees that have a subconscious bias approach to people of color...do you know how tiring that is? would you like to hear about my life of people discriminating against me at times and they dont even know their doing it? 35 minutes dude. For a sandwich. No excuses. And you were ignorant enough to tell me about your party, which is the worst comeback you can say to a black person to make yourself seem like you arent racist. Ask your black friends about that while you are partying with them and let them school you. It wasnt lunch time. Your place was dam near empty and your employees acted normal...and thats the scary part. What they did was second nature to the point that they defended themselves instead of recognizing what really happened. So do yourself a favor, recognize the people you hired, and own it just like you own that restaurant.
But you are brave coming on my fb.... Ill give...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer in the past for some time now, always anticipating the delicious sandwiches and cozy atmosphere. However, my recent visit left me feeling disappointed and out of place. Previously, the staff were always attentive, engaging, and ready to take my order or ask how I was doing or to welcome me in. Regrettably, during my last visit, the customer service did not meet my expectations.
I spoke with a young lady behind the counter who seemed distracted with sweeping, immediately assuming I was there to pick up an Uber order with my family... Her tone conveyed annoyance, giving me the impression that my presence was an inconvenience. When I inquired if they were closing soon (because she was sleeping the floor and no one was placing an order), the response I received was abrupt and unhelpful. This experience left me feeling like I no longer fit in to the culture of this shop and I left with my family to go eat somewhere else. I sincerely hope that this incident was an isolated one.
My intention with this review is not to criticize or disparage anyone from eating here but to share my observations and feelings. I hope that this feedback can be helpful in any...
Read moreTrigo is honestly my favorite restaurant, and for many reasons! The staff is so kind and accommodating, making the effort to remember mine and my friends' names, along with our usual orders. They are professional, friendly, and quick to serve you, even at their peak business hours. The owner is also incredibly friendly and will reach out and make conversation with customers regularly.
The food is SUPERB. I have not eaten a single thing from Trigo that was anything short of amazing and flavorful. My personal favorite is the Bay Bridge special with their Caesar pasta salad. Their pizzas are to die for, as well!
Lastly, the location. Trigo is located downtown, so one would think that it would be rather tiny and seem squished between all the other businesses. They have the cutest outside seating area and patio that expands the restaurant and makes it seem roomier and visually pleasing. It's so nice sitting out there on a warm, sunny day.
I recently moved to Tampa for college, and I can't tell you how much I talk about how I miss it and wish Trigo was a franchise so I could still enjoy them all the way over here. I would recommend this place to anyone...
