Since NOLA's District: Donuts. Sliders. Brew opened in The Cosmopolitan's Block 16 in 2018, we've managed to make our way here for their savory biscuit breakfast sandwiches or classic doughnuts while sloshing down a cup or two of their in-house coffee brews before getting in our exercise or casino play. Fortunately, we both enjoy walking while staying on The Strip and have often made it a point to walk to and from our hotel to up to the Wynn, Palazzo, or Venetian resorts. We'll stop into casinos to play for a couple of hours, then move on while putting in at least 6 to 8 miles per day.
During our recent 4-day visit to Las Vegas, we found ourselves at this food stall three times for breakfast since they were one of the few places that we thought about going to at 7 or 8 AM. This food stall is located at The Cosmopolitan's Block 16 on the third level. It's facing Eggslut, Holstein's, and China Poblano.
There's usually a line of customers wrapped around the stall while plenty of clean, open seating areas await diners either inside Block 16 near Hattie B's or Lardo. High-top seating options are facing Block 16, too. If you've not been here before, you should step up near the cashier to take a gander at their display case of colorful and luscious donuts or biscuit sandwiches. We've only eaten at District for breakfast, although they do offer lunch and dinner
Service is friendly, quick, and efficient. You place your order at the cashier, and within a few minutes, they will call out your name to pick up your food or beverage. I enjoyed watching the employees' workflow seamlessly, bringing together the food and beverage orders like a fine-tuned engine.
FOOD: -Miso Praline Bacon & Sunny Side Up Egg Biscuit: You Had Me at Bacon! Well, actually, upon seeing miso praline bacon on the menu, my mouth began to water. I could imagine the salty-sweetness of the miso praline flavor combination. Plus, the delicious thick-cut bacon and a perfectly fried sunny-side-up egg were sandwiched between fluffy buttermilk biscuit halves. I rushed to a table, took the foodie photos, and eagerly cut into my sandwich as the golden egg yolk oozed as the knife pierced it. The sandwich was served piping hot, and I shared half with my husband on our first day of three. $7.50
-Cherrywood Smoked Bacon, Scrambled Egg, and American Cheese Kolache: Seeing Kolaches (kuh-lah-chee) on the menu made me reminisce about living in San Antonio, TX. I fondly remember eating BBQ brisket or sausage, cheddar, and jalapeño, or mango and chamoy kolaches for breakfast or lunch. So seeing the savory kolaches in the District's display case and on their menu prompted me to suggest to my husband that he should order this savory breakfast kolache to try. He said it looked small and he was hungry, so he asked for two of the same. I thought he should've ordered the other kolache choice, but hey, I just rolled with his options because I knew we'd return. I wiped the knife and offered it to my husband to cut the kolache. This was the first time he'd ever tried a kolache, and after one bite, he loved it and was happy to have ordered two of them. $4.50
We paired our sandwich and kolaches with cups of hot drip coffee ($5) and found ourselves open seats in a booth next to Hattie B's since the rest of the food stalls weren't open yet. While eating and planning our day, my husband joked about waiting for Hattie B's to open so that he could get his fried chicken fix in. Instead, we'd sit around for a little while more after getting our caffeine fix and bellies filled, then headed out...
Read moreWhen I checked into The Cosmopolitan, it was early morning about 7am and I had a few hours walking around the mall.
There were 2 shops open Eggslut and this.
I could only eat one burger and I eventually decided on Eggslut cos I've had it before in Singapore and I knew it was good.
Today I'm leaving and I kept thinking about District Donuts Sliders and Brew.
So I ordered Egg and Cheese Biscuit with additional Ham.
We don't get a lot of biscuits like this in Singapore and this is like nothing I've ever had.
The biscuit is crispy, chewy and crumbly, there was a huge chunk of thinly spiced ham, the cheese was well incorporated into the egg so I couldn't differentiate one from the other but I could taste it there.
The ham is on the saltier side but I like it. The biscuit, egg and cheese were comparatively less salty so they go extremely well together.
The biscuit also has a tinge of buttery creamy taste too it.
It's good, everyone should try it at least once. 👍👍👍
My complain, if I have to, is they wanted me to go to the side to pick up the biscuit even though I was seated at the counter and they weren't busy today.
Also maybe avoid the Cosmopolitan branch of you dislike smoke smell cos it's right on top of the casino and the air constantly has cigarette/ vape/ cigar/ weed(maybe) smell.
$11 for biscuit, $7 for ham before taxes and tip.
Overall, I love it, 5 stars from me!
P/S: Dang, the other server just served a lady seated further from the pick up corner. So if you're a lady, maybe they'll...
Read moreSuper yummy food is served daily at this spot, located in the second floor food court in The Cosmopolitan. They serve just what you would expect... Donuts, Sliders, Brew. And each selection is delicious af. You can sit right there at the bar and eat your order. Or you may take it elsewhere and consume it. Either way, the flavor profiles will fill you with joy. I generally opt for a couple cheeseburger sliders and a couple chicken sliders. A little turf and turf action is what I enjoy when I'm at this spot. Because of its location, you have other options as well. Thinking about some hot chicken for dessert? Well it's right next door, like 7 feet away. But I think you should just grab a donut from District Donuts Sliders Brew if you're hungry for dessert. The options are plentiful, and they're prepared right in front of you. This is equally true for the savory dishes. The grill stares you in the face while you wait. What better way to pass the time than to reflect on life in the presence of a grill. Why do you think so many dads do the grilling on Memorial Day? Reflection time. In conclusion, please let me know how your visit to the food court at The Cosmopolitan goes. You can do so by hitting the like button. That way Google knows you like my review and they will let me post more of them. Which is very nice indeed. Thanks for...
