Palermo's Pizza — Restaurant in Paradise

SCAM/FRAUD ALERT - DO NOT use a card to pay!! I ordered from them on a Friday, they were one of those flyers under the door of our hotel, we got in super late, so we figured why not. Spent $80 for a huge pizza, wings, and soda. The whole transaction and food were pretty good. The next day, Saturday mid afternoon, I got a notice from my bank that they charged me again. I check to make sure it's not just pending. No, it's a whole new charge. Weird. So I call and speak to a guy who tells me to call back in 3-4 hrs. No, I don't think so, I want this fixed now. He says the owner said he doesn't care and I have to call back. I asked if the owner didn't care about committing credit card fraud?! And the guy comes back and says, "He said maybe you should call the police." I'm flabbergasted, so I asked to speak to him, and he refuses to come to the phone, so I ask for an address and tell the guy I'm on my way. I show up, about 18 minutes later, and the guy tells me the manager just left because I was coming. WHAT A FREAKING COWARD!!! So I tell the guy I want this fixed and I don't care by who. The guy tells me, "OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN THERE AND HAD TO CALL THE COPS AND THAT'S HOW IT'S GOTTEN FIXED BEFORE". He's literally not surprised and seems very accustomed to this whole ordeal. So I'm sure they run this scam often. They double charge, and if you don't notice, you just paid almost $200 for some pizza and wings. After being there for 45 minutes trying to decide what to do, it got reversed without anyone talking to me. So I'm more than sure they've been running this scam and likely get away with it a lot, if you don't notice the charge and complain. BUYER BEWARE!!! Ps - I have the conversation with the employee recorded, but to save the employee, I won't post it. The employee and the lady making pizza there at the time genuinely seemed terrified and scared. But I will be using it to contact the authorities as well as their credit...

LOL....so i got hungry for pizza and looked on google maps for something different, but still near where i live. I called Big Mama's and order a pizza. Then, after ordering, i looked at the reviews. There were so many negative reviews, I was just about to call and cancel my order. It had been 20 minutes so i figured i had time. The guy taking my order said it would be 45 minutes, and some of these other reviews suggest it was going to take much much longer. This is also a friday night at 6:30pm by the way. Nothing in vegas is on time at this time of night. Thats when something strange happened. The delivery guy called and said he was driving up to my house. A little shocked I grabbed my $20 and walked to the door, and there he was. And he was in a good mood as well (not always the case with delivery guys). So I'm giving the service a 10. It was unbelievably fast. Now to the pizza. The crust (hand tossed) was not so hand tossed. I'm pretty sure they are buying their crusts pre-made. Don't get me wrong, it's good.....just not that super tasty kind of crust. The white sauce has a lot of flavor though and makes up for a lot. Very very garlicy. If you don't love garlic, don't get this sauce. However, I do love garlic, so it was a good fit. The peperoni was....well just like any other peperoni i've ever had, but the sausage was really really good. The cheese was ok, but I know it's got to be processed mozzarella. For the price though, what can you expect. Real moz is not cheap. I got the extra large, and damn is it big. Plenty of toppings too. All for 18 bucks delivered in 20 mins. It's not a pizza that'll blow your mind, but for the price and speed, I'll order it again. If these guys figure out how to make their own crusts some day, they could have a sensation on their hands. Of course then we'll be paying Metro...

I have been unemployed for several months and have been unable to have pizza delivered to me until I got my new job. I wanted to celebrate my first paycheck and I wanted a place close to me that I had not tried before.

I picked Palermo's because it has a Greek salad and a Greek Pizza and I was a regular Greek restaurant customer in St Louis before moving here.

I could not have been more disappointed in this order. The ingredients in both a salad and pizza wear skimpy. The taste was extremely bland in both the salad and pizza. Greek food is noted for black olives and they were nearly nonexistent involved. Little feta cheese in the salad and the pizza was so bland a frozen Red Baron's from Vons grocery store is tastier.

It took an hour and 20 minutes for delivery and I realize Saturday night is busy but the combination of an extra weight and disappointing food will not make me a customer of this restaurant again.

UPDATE: 15 minutes after posting this review, I contacted Slice, the third party vendor I ordered through.

They contacted the restaurant. The restaurant manager Mahmoud called mme.He showed no empathy. He explained how they made their food. He offered me a discount, but I rejected it. Why would anyone want a discount for a future order of poor food? I told him I would not be interested being a future customer.

Well Mahmoud showed his true personality. "Well, I don't want you as a customer."

I really should change my review now to a one-star. With that type of attitude and a for product, they really don't need anymore first time customers...
