I Took my daughter here after receiving a coupon from her school for reading. The coupon was for a individual 1 topping pizza for DiNE in use. I got to the front and gave the cashier the coupon and asked for it to be redeemed the cashier asked me what else I would be ordering and I proceeded to tell her nothing else we just wanted to get the pizza for my daughter. The cashier made a noise and face as if she was slightly annoyed. She then walked away and after about 1 minute came back and told me that we can only use it if we were dining in and Not for take out. I was Slightly surprised as I didn't realize that was part of the coupon so I told her I didn't have much time but that I would stay and have them eat a slice to comply with the coupon. The cashier said ok and then after about 2 minutes a lady came over to the counter and told me "would you like to come back another day" I was caught off gaurd and proceeded to ask why she would ask that. She then says "this is for dine in only"and I responded to her by saying yes I understand that and I already said that I would comply with the rules of the coupon. The lady was obviously annoyed and at this point so was I. What should have been a nice gesture from this restaurant to participate in giving children their own individual pizza ended up in a very negative experience. Although I understand that they may have expected for people to sit down and order more food other than the pizza that was given to the student for reading it is not an obligation and they should not make people feel bad for not ordering anything. Luckily my family does have the means to enjoy occasionally eating out BUT not everyone has that and they should be more considerate of others and...
Read moreHad the worst experience at Shakey's in Pasco on Tuesday night. We were coming from Pasco Golf Land and was very hard getting into the restaurant parking lot going west off the road before the light at Road 68. There were only 6 other patrons in the restaurant of which 2 were playing the games. The gal running the bar had "reserved" signs on all of the tables in the front section by the bar and big screen TV. I asked when the party was coming in and she said there is no one coming in, I just want to shut down this area, and she asked us to sit in the section by the beverages and game section. I told her I didn't want to sit where it was so noisy, and if no one is coming in, asked why we couldn't use one of the tables in the section by the bar? She thought for a few seconds and let us have a table there. The place was a mess, the bathroom was disgustingly dirty and no toilet paper in one of the stalls. We went for pizza and salad bar. The pizza was great, but the salad bar was bare, dirty, awful bagged lettuce, not enough condiments to offer, compared to a lot of salad bars I've been to. When I was younger, it was a treat for my parents to take us to Pendleton to Shakey's. I was happy to see Shakey's trying to make it in Pasco. This was our 2nd visit, hard to access the restaurant, disgusting dirty restaurant, good pizza, bad salad. I'd love to hear from the manager on how he can make this better, and possibly get a complimentary pizza of our choice and salad...
Read moreWhen my husband told me we were going through Washington to come home to Iowa from our Alaskan trip, I asked if we would be anywhere near Pasco. Growing up wehen I was in middle and high school, we spent every weekend at least one day at Shakey's! Back then our Shakey's had a player piano, musical animated robotic bears (I think they were all bears, similar to the Chucky Cheese crew, but WAY before, we're talking back in 1970-1980's!),about every 20-30 minutes they played the original black and white Little rascals and 3 stooges on a big screen, you could watch them hand toss the pizza dough, and they had ice cream! It was a favorite hangout for everyone, and when I learned of the only Shakey's left in the U.S. I knew that if we were ever close, I wanted to go! While the atmosphere has changed to match the times, none of the things I remember are in this Shakey's, but they have games and TV's (showing sports). The thing that did not change, the Mojo's, was my main reason for wanting to come to this Shakey's! They were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, with the right amount of spice, just like I remember! Thank God for air friers! We took home 1/2 of the order we bought with our pizza, and also bought one to go! The pizza was delicious, the crust was thin ( but not too thin) and crispy. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. I will tell you this, I came 1700 miles from home to come to this Shakeys, and I would do it again! Yes, I recommend this...
