Punto Fijo Restaurant — Restaurant in Passaic

I went to this dive of a so called restaurant this past Saturday with my English speaking family member. The employees including the owners son would not help him. So I who is bilingual intervened and asked if there is anyone who speaks English and I was told NO. This is America. If you are going to have a business here why would you exclude English speaking customers? They replied that I am a racist. Meanwhile half of my family in mixed white American and Spanish. This place is the true racist people. Sad and shameful to Americans who do not speak spanish but want to enjoy the food...

Charged 40$ for two “large” oxtail orders. And another 40$ for a large white rice and beans and Plantains. Tell me how that even sounds okay? So I didn’t mind paying for the oxtails thinking it would be able to feed a family of four right? Nope they give two small tins with oxtails. When I called to tell them this must have been a mistake they blame each other in the background and then tells me since it it hard for them to get oxtails they have to charge more. This review is for Punto Fijo 2. Normally got to 1 but that one is currently closed. I paid $18 for a rice, beans and chicken lunch, pastel de hoja and can of soda. Little pricey for what I'm used to paying at similar restaurants. The food was also missing some flavor. Couldn't quite pinpoint what was missing from their guisado and beans.
