Hello, this is Doll in a Restaurant, Thank you for joining me one more time in this great jorney. I have been in this restaurant before and I can see the ouner of this place is starting to do some makeover to it. So far they do en good in it decoration. But remember is not always about how much the place is decorate. This is a little restaurant as others mexican restaurant I have been. My fiance ask for a beef soup, that is a spicy soup, I ask for a chicken soup. I'm a fan with the soup sens I was 7 years old, and sens then I use to eat soup with alot of flavor and noodles with white rice, Puerto Rico stile! If you have try Puertoriquen soup, you know what I'm talking about. So, when I try this mexican chicken soup at this restauran for the first time, It wasn't as I was hoping to be. It dont have much flavor, the (recaud) with the onion helps the soup to have flavor, but soups that are made in that way, is Not exacly my taste. I aet it couple of times that I think I'm starting to use to it. If you are looking for a restaurant to engoy a good, flavor shicken soup with noodles I dont really recomend this soup; but if you are on diet and you are looking to eat a lite soup that dont comes with to much calories and have vegetables, then I recomend you this soup because is literally lite in taste and oil. This restaurant is located in a very good location were there is more restaurant that I have been with my fiance before. There is lot of stores were you can walk and see around. Now the negative is that they need to choose whether to sell or not to sell the most famouse mexican drink( horchata) cause I love orchata as many others people, but this place when is 5 pm around 6pm they dont have the horchata or nither natural fruit juice. When you oun a restaurant and you sell a tipical juice, you need to make sure to have it because then when costumers comes to drink that tipical drink they will be disappoint it if the restaurant dont have what they sell. I was very disappointed, I came to this restaurant for the fifth time and they dont have the juice. This is not good in any way, costumers may not feel secure to come back again if they desire to drink a good, cold, and big horchata. Is not the first time this happens, so this give a bad impression to this restaurant. So, if you are looking as well to eat a great taste soup with noodles and a big, cold, and delicious horchata, I dont recomend to come to this restaurant. I know the effort the ouners do to have a restaurant, but they need to do then effort to have a good impression and experience. Thank you for your value time and read my little experience, this was Doll in a Restaurant, Shalom, have a...

Saw this as we were leaving Los Amigos and Brenda Lee. The name was familiar. Reminded me of this little hole in the wall Mexican deli/taqueria near my job in Hells Kitchen NYC. They had another location closer to Port Authority, so we came by to try.

Saw the framed article and YES! It's the same restaurant! The Hells Kitchen location closed before the pandemic, and a friend told me the Port Authority location closed during the pandemic. I was sad to hear that as we all thought we would go back to work some day soon. 😞

Anyway, I'm so happy to find them in NJ where I live!

4 tacos for $13, choice of 2 meats The NY locations would charge per taco so you can mix and match.

Chorizo con Papas - my favorite order, and it didn't disappoint!

Chicharon en Salsa Verde - my second fav, and it was a little drier than I remembered but still really good!

Cabeza - tender but didn't have much flavor. I had to use Salsa Verde

Tripa - best tripa of the 3 restaurant this week. It was tender. They crisp the outside, so it was really good and seared the flavor in.

Jamaica - not overly sweet and a touch of tartness.

I miss my taco lunches with my coworkers, so this is a wonderful surprise and a bit of nostalgia. I texted my coworkers, and they were surprised and jealous. LOL

Small restaurant with about 15 seats and 5 tables.

Order at the counter and pick up when ready. Just like the NY locations 😀

CASH ONLY, the sign was in Spanish, but I...

HANDMADE TORTILLAS!!

My family and I really enjoyed the tacos. Not many restaurants offer fresh made tortillas. Each order of tacos came with four. You get about an 8 inch handmade corn tortilla with your choice of meat and toppings. They do not skimp on the meat. They do offer other Authentic Mexican food, specifically from the Puebla region. Form of payment is CASH ONLY, they do let you know that prices have change from what they have on the menu. Ask for prices...

The food my husband and I ordered unfortunately made us sick. The Suadero tacos were not good at all. On the positive side, the horchata was probably the best we’ve ever tasted, homemade and delicious, I would honestly come back just for that. However, the service was very disappointing. The staff were not friendly, and when we sat down, the lady simply said “you order up front” with no greeting, which felt very unwelcoming. Would not recommend.
