Ecuadorian food 🇪🇨✨ #hiddengem #supportlocalbusiness #passaicnj

The food At this place is delicious and that's why I choose to go with my family to eat there. However, the customer service they provided to me and my family was not so professional, I asked the waitress for my son's breaded chicken to be cut in slices because my son would prefer it that way. She replied "they don't cut anything in the kitchen and she can bring me a knife to do it myself". Then I asked the same waitress for hot sauce and she replied "this is an Ecuadorian restaurant we don't have that here". I think they should provide any type of hot sauce because of the fact that they have other people from other backgrounds going to this place to have a good dine in experience. Other than that the food was good, but my mother in law had to walk to a store nearby to get a bottle of hot sauce to enjoy our food. This place is either a hit or miss.

We were a group of 7. We went for lunch and only had 1 hour or less. They took our order really fast and the food came out quick also. The food was amazingggggggggg. I ordered the “arroz chaufa” with shrimp, beef, chicken, ham and egg. I think at least 3 people can eat from it because they serve so much. They have my favorite freshly squeezed orange juice and other variety. The food from my friends was also excellent and delicious. Pictures tell the story.

I came here with a HUGE group for a birthday celebration. We were rolling about 15 people deep and Venus Bar did their best to accommodate us all- so thank you! It was clear they were intimidated by such a big group (they were given a heads up since they don't take reservations) but they made it work and put us right in the middle of the dining area. We were a damn spectacle.

The bar was a perfect spot to wait for a table to open up and the bartender made a pretty good margarita. I had 2 (regular and passion fruit) and they were both tasty and strong and one was even served in a traditional margarita glass (haha). It was clear, however, that the bar caters mostly to beer and shot drinkers not so much cocktail connoisseurs but again: they made it happen, and with a smile. In Spanglish (my native language).

Once we were seated the birthday girl ordered a ton of dishes for the table to share and pass around. There was ceviche (in different styles), yuca fries, rice, octopus salad, fried pork- a ton of food! But I wasn't impressed with the quality or taste of anything except the octopus salad which had some pretty tender octopus but very little of it. The yuca fries were tasty (as most fried things are) but lacked the fibrous yuca quality I've come to expect of natural yuca fries. Overall I was underwhelmed by the taste of the food. I've had some pretty amazing ceviches in my lifetime but not even comparing these ceviches to those, they still fell short. The food, however, does come in ginormous portions so even if it is $20 a plate it can potentially feed three people (or fill me up after a big workout, or on any given lazy Sunday). And after stuffing our faces we each were only left with a $15 burden which astonished all of us who fear birthday dinners that result in paying $60 regardless of how much, or little, you ate.

Would I return here? Probably not. It's out of reach for me and I was underwhelmed by the food. I also sort of wish they were BYOB only then would I consider the...

Today we went to Venus and we’re totally ignored and passed up to seat someone who arrived after us. We were 2 and it was a single person. Same table size. Ignorant owner who was there and would let us just walk out and loose business.

And yes. The bathroom was filthy and no toilet paper. Very rude of Venus to respond to another patron to “take their food out” if they didn’t appreciate their lack of cleanliness. The owner’s always there and she should be on top of cleanliness instead of challenging people. A dirty bathroom is a sign of a filthy kitchen.

We Took our $100 for 2 to another restaurant who appreciates their clients. Without clients they would be out of business.

I’ve never been to a restaurant who charges you for your “takeout container” and .25 for hot sauce. DONT BE SARCASTIC AND SAY STAY HOME OR GO TO MC DONALDS . It’s the principle not the quarter which I’m sure was built into my $30 entree

WHOMEVER IS RESPONDING TO YOUR POSTS IS CLASSLESS …it’s degrading the way you respond to your...

If I could give this place zero stars, I most definitely would. The last time came here I ordered my usual plate which tasted for some reason came out super watery and tasted horrible! I barely ate my plate, then told the waitress how I was unsatisfied I was with my entree and asked if it can be removed from the bill. Instead she decided to DIG THROUGH THE TRASH just to show me that because I had already taken a couple of bites of my plate, I still had to pay for it. At this point I was at a loss for words. I spoke to the boss and he had the nerve to tell me that I should have brought it to their attention earlier. But how was I to do this if our waitress didn't stop at our table not once? These people are money hungry and deliver terrible customer service! So, if you don't like your entree make sure to regurgitate it back onto your plate if you're looking to get it...
