Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Patton Township

My husband and I stopped at this particular Jersey Mike's (Atherton St. State College, PA) while we were out shopping. We ordered our food and paid. Now when my husband went to pay, he did not notice the tray that had a note in it saying please place money here. After he had placed it on the counter, the gentleman slid the money plus the tray toward him. My husband apologized for not seeing the note in tray and the gentleman just looked at him. This would not have bothered us, but the gentleman would not take the money from my husband's hand, but he picked the money up from the counter WITHOUT GLOVES! So, my point is, I understand the protection logic, but if you are not going to have ALL employees wear & change gloves after each customer or food item - your tray for the money is...

We eat here one or two times a month. The staff is quick to take your order, and they hurry you through the assembly line like prep line. During my last visit, they mistakenly put onions on my sub. This is when the assembly line fell apart. When I asked if the already wrapped sub had onions, they just looked at each other. They would scrap the onions off but were reluctant to make me a new sub. When they agreed, they didn't hurry to make up for their mistake. After waiting at the end of the assembly line with two young children, I had to ask them again to make it. Horrible experience. As a secret shopper I can tell you this. Wasn't greeted at all when I walked in the store, waiting to be waited on for a bit... finally! Then asked "what do you have for a hot menu?" and was just told that we don't heat up our sandwiches. I didn't ask that. So then I said "oh you have cheeseteaks" I see. And then looked at the employee and she was looking at the register and not even pay attention to me, she didn't even hear me. So all in all this was a failed customer service experience that did not meet Jersey Mike's standards. Hopefully the next time the standard will be met....if there is...
