This has unfortunately been one of the more disappointing card shop experiences Iāve had in the past eight years. I was genuinely surprised to see a Japanese Umbreon PSA 10 priced at $120 above market value. While I own my own shop and very much fully understand and respect the need to price slightly higher to account for fees, shipping, and overhead costs, that kind of markup felt excessive and difficult to justify.
As I continued browsing, I noticed a Prismatic ETB priced way above market. Iām aware that some shops refer to ālast soldā prices to support their pricing, but that argument starts to feel disingenuous when the shop also buys at 65% of market value. It gives the impression that market value is only referenced when it benefits the seller, which feels one-sided. I know that most stores want to benefit themselves, but this come on.
What disappointed me most, however, was the tone in responses to critical feedback. Rather than addressing concerns constructively, the replies came across as defensive and unprofessionalāmore like something you'd expect from social media bickering than a real place of business. I truly wanted to enjoy and support this store, but itās hard to do so when criticism is met with hostility instead of dialogue. Professionalism matters, especially in niche communities like this. That poor individual in the other review got hit with a "Look at the other reviews, literally no one else agrees with you, you definitely did not call our shop." Not only does it sound like you're almost convincing yourself, but it's an immature response when they already had a bad experience with the store. Also, how illogical can you be? They obviously visited from Canada, they didn't just go on Google and type in your exact store and leave a bad review. I genuinely think this shop can be better, just need to grow up and not act like kids.
Edit: Again, your anger is in the way, and I didnāt assume. Your other reviews say the same percentage. Which you wouldāve seen had you not resorted to a childish response. Second of all, I wasnāt being rude, so no reason to say ādo betterā, your shop is the one that needs to truly do better when you donāt know your own prices. Or like youāre not the one that needs therapy for your anger issues. Or like your attitude with criticism could do better. You could say this in a nicer way? Or at least a firm way? Orā¦.any other way that doesnāt dog on people in your niche community? Like other actual normal people that own normal card shops? Your lack of professionalism will come to bite you. I seen a review where someone left 3 stars because they ran out of pokemon which I reported because there is no bad customer service there is no bad comment about how the store looks inside or if the employees were mean , none of that was in the review and should be deleted soon itās unfair you canāt do that to shops because trust me if they can get Pokemon they will jump on it immediately , they want all customers to be happy and they do fair trades from what my 5! Donāt lie, I came to your shop two days ago and waited around for you and nobody showed up, so do better next time and have somebody onsite that can answer my questions if you want to do business. š
