First and foremost this is such a cute lounge in downtown Pensacola. There are ambient lights, lots of seating in the lounge as well as outside in the back, and based on what I’ve heard of the food, it’s great(I didn’t order food). However, I do urge the owner and staff of this lounge to be more prepared for events.
I came for the Love Island 💗 🏝️ watch party, which had a lovely set up by the way. There were themed drinks, themed games, themed snacks and party items. It was quite a busy night so understandably the two bartenders could only get to customers as quickly as they were humanly able to, and for that, I have no plights. One issue though, is that, the inconsistencies in how the drinks were presented can become a problem for people who are not familiar with cocktail making.
If a drink is normally given in a rocks glass but was served in a martini glass, someone who is unfamiliar with the contents of the drink will feel that they have been given the wrong thing/ they’ve not been given enough of what they ordered. It is important to remain consistent with the presentation of beverages to reduce the amount confusion or upset customers, even though the bartender may have made the drink exactly how it was supposed to be made. Too many times throughout the night I heard, “what did you order? Why doesn’t mine look like yours if we got the same thing?”
When it was time for the showing of Love Island, the Blend staff could not figure out how to properly connect the audio to the TV. Because of this customers had to go outside to the back to watch the show, where the only TV with sound was. Music continued to be played inside, and basketball continued to be shown on the big screen inside. This is quite inconvenient for people who had expectations of enjoying the show inside instead of being forced outside where it was already quite warm, and being congested around people wouldn’t help.
If an events is being advertised, and people are coming to the lounge specifically for the event, then it should be in the best interest of the staff to work these kinks out. People are spending their time and money to enjoy the space and had it been a popular sports competition, I am almost positive these issues would have been remedied expeditiously, but because it was just a streamed show, the lack of problem solving seemed to suggest that they didn’t really care.
Overall, the lounge is a place where people can have a good chat, tasty drinks and food and vibe to good music. I do hope they work these issues out for...
Read moreI was outside waiting on a bartender named Cheyenne to serve me and she was very rude. I have been to this place several times and have always been treated nicely however this bartender was definitely not nice. I waited at the window for 25+ minutes to be severed and she completely ignored me. She served 10+ people who approached after me. I was very nice and said “excuse me” several times to get her attention. I was on the verge of tears before I gave up. I waited a few minutes then returned back to the bar when the crowd died down and there were barely any people. I again waited a long time and was still ignored while she served several people that came up after me. My friend went up for me and ordered on my tap and got severed within 5 minutes. Be aware the staff judges you and can be cruel based on your appearance. I gave the bartender the benefit of the doubt based on past experiences but I was disgusted by the...
Read moreMust be nice when having rude employees doesn’t affect your bottom line. I get bartending is hard but you should be able to at least have some idea of what order to serve ppl. But since I wasnt waving money in the bartenders face saying hey hey me next, I was invisible. At least bars are a dime a dozen on palafox. Simple thought if chaos is overwhelming and you cant keep drinks straight in a fast paced environment maybe bartending isnt for you……. Maybe if it hadnt taken so long to order a drink we could have drank more but clearly our money...
