I was deeply disappointed by my experience here. I usually go to Siam Thai but they are closed on Mondays, so my partner and I decided to try something new. We had a yellow curry and pad thai, which were passable. I was pleased with the heat level, but the flavor left a bit to be desired. The part that really threw me was dessert. Mango sticky rice is one of my favorites, and to describe what they served me as "mango sticky rice" was insulting. It was very clearly just the rice they serve with their entrees, featuring a tiny slice of mango with a watery sweetened coconut sauce. I couldn't even eat it. To add insult to injury, when we were ready to leave the server charged us incorrectly, leaving a $70+ pending charge on our account for someone else's bill, then "corrected" the mistake, and we paid for ours. Meaning that at least temporarily we spent nearly $150 at this disappointing place BEFORE tip. We are industry, and besides that faux pas had good service so we still intended to tip 20%, however we ended up being charged 30% instead somehow upon checking our statement. This place seems to be trying it's best but is ultimately embarrassing and overpriced. I get a much better meal, service, ambiance, and portion size from Siam Thai for much cheaper. Literally the same thing for $60 after tip instead of $80, without the mistakes and mediocre to...
Read moreI was craving Thai food and wanted to try some place new. I had read some posts about a good food truck on Pensacola Foodies FB group. So I decided to give it a try. I am half Thai, so I'm pretty picky about my Thai food. My usual method when trying a new place is to get one noodle dish and one curry dish. So I ordered Drunken Noodles and Green Curry. I requested both as medium hot because every chef interprets medium differently. I'm fine with very spicy food, but my spouse has a little lower tolerance. We we given a pager while we waited for our food to be cooked. The location leaves much to be desired but only about a 15 minute drive from our house. After a short wait our pager went off, and we retrieved our food. It was piping hot and smelled heavenly. It was a LONG drive home waiting to dig in. When we finally arrived home, I was so hungry I didn't stop to take a picture. It tasted as good as it smelled. The curry was a luxurious silky texture and full of flavor. Not watered down like I have had at some other places here. The noodles were well seasoned and a perfect texture. Both dishes had a good amount of veggies including pieces of Chinese broccoli, which I love. The spice level was perfect. You could feel it, but it didn't overwhelm the flavor of the dishes. I could eat here every week and be...
Read moreI am soo glad that Chef Eddie is back! I took my mom to lunch for her birthday, and everything was delicious. I love the menu. it's colorful, and the selection is extensive. From 11-3 there was a lunch special so we took advantage of that. Mom decided on the basil chicken with rice. You could also choose a side salad or miso soup (the soup needed a little salt), and it came with an egg roll. I decided on the shrimp pad Thai, spice level HOT AS HELL (it's on the menu). I am a serious chili head. I was warned by the server that there was a no takey backy policy if I find that the dish is too hot. Challenge accepted. It's been my experience at most Thai restaurants I have gone to that they tend to NOT spice it up when requested. That was not the case with Chef Eddie. He lit my ass up, yall! Chef Eddie was not playing! It was delicious! I had to sneak up on a couple of bites, but it was worth it! The dishes were generous, I had the rest of my food for dinner that evening. Service was good. Everyone was pleasant, and the vibe was nice. My mom had a wonderful...
