There aren't many good Mexican restaurants in the Pensacola, FL area, but this one does fill a niche in the Mexican theme.
It is a fast version of "not full on Mexican" food, but not "fast-food" either. Think college, frat lifestyle Mexican food & atmosphere and that should give you an idea. You walk up and order your food after which you can be seated and they bring the food out to you. I have not been disappointed.
The Taco Tuesdays (Two tacos, chips, & a drink for $4.99) are very good and I get back for them as often as I can. I usually have a beef burrito and I enjoy it very much. It is not a burrito with the marinated, shredded beef that I prefer and love but very surprisingly, even though the beef burrito is only made with ground beef, they managed to season it well enough that I am still pleasantly satisfied and am able to overlook that aspect.
The menu is such that you can have your food/entree anyway that you want. You can add sauce, melted cheese, sour cream, go low fat, low-carb, have everything that comes on the item, or just the items you want. You get to customize your food. You can get your food spicy or on the mild side. If you like a spicy entree, you will be able to find it here as jalapenos are one of the ingredients that come with, or rather in, an entree unless you request otherwise. They have many varieties of hot sauces available as well. There must be around 30 varieties. The staff there have been very friendly, inviting...
Read moreWow wow wow all I can say is amazing ….the food the Sauces are so amazing this is food I will slap my momma for this wow all I can say is the prices are great. The amount of food is awesome. I know I’m gonna get haters but I’ll tell you right now. This place is hands-down better than chipotle or chipotle or any other build a bowl place I would get this place a 10 out of 10 honestly 10+ I would definitely go back to either the best thing about the Whole Pl.,. Natalie is a food great the sauces are banging but one thing about this place that a lot of places lack in Pensacola is they have amazing food, but the staff is even so over the top from the time you get greeted in the door and they are so nice they accommodated my every move to explaining the sauces to me letting me know what this and that was they took the time that’s how a business should be. Ran food can taste great and one bad staff member can make your food never be wanted again so I give two thumbs up. You guys are amazing. Keep doing what you’re doing and do not change because that’s peoples problems. They change and they go downhill. I would recommend this place anybody please try it out it’s awesome....
Read moreIt gets three stars for staff and cleanliness. Coming from Texas, we don't have one of these places by us. So, with the great reviews, my daughter and I gave it a shot. I ordered a cheese quesadilla, thinking one couldn't mess that up, and I got a chicken quesadilla. Wasn't fond of the chicken and how it was seasoned. My daughter wanted street tacos, but they only had them with corn, so she went with regular chicken tacos, she too didn't care for the chicken. This was the first time ever eating at a Mexican restaurant, I had to pay for chips and salsa, but I did, because my daughter loves chips and salsa. To me the chips were too thick, and she said the salsa was alright.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The place was kept clean. That's the best part of the experience.
Would I go out to eat here again... Only if it was the only place available to eat, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for excellent Tex-Mex food. Maybe we are spoiled in Texas, but the quality of food is much better, and we have the extras included in our meals. I.E. chips and salsa, homemade flour tortillas, and usually free ice cream...
