I remember going to Dairy Queen as a youngster in Texas. We looked forward to the great desserts. My visit today stimulated my childhood memories, however, things were different. I ordered three orders of chicken strips, a burger, three blizzards, and a shake. It blew my mind to pay over $ 50.00 for this order. Totally overpriced!!! The chicken strips were very good and the burger was sloppy (in a good way) and not bad, however, it wasn't even in the same league as Whataburger or Carl's Jr. The fries were cold, bland and served in a tiny little box... very disappointing. The Blizzards were delicious and satisfying. The shake was also very tasty (a new cake shake). All in all, the food, other than the burger and fries, was good and the desserts were absolutely delicious. The service was also a disappointment. Although there were no vehicles behind me in the drive through, I was asked to park on the opposite side of the restaurant and await my order. I did as asked, but the order took an irritatingly long time to be brought out. Luckily, I checked my order only to find that they forgot my burger and fries. The young man apologized and returned to retrieve my missing items. He returned and unceremoniously handed me a scrunched up bag. I was not even offered a coupon for the long wait and the mistake with my order. Needless to say, my visit was a huge disappointment. Desserts were great, food was mediocre, and everything was disgustingly overpriced. My recommendation, therefore, is to limit trips to Dairy Queen to dessert runs. If you know that you're going to spend over fifty dollars for three adults and one child, as I did, you may want to consider Golden Corral, for a much more satisfying meal for a...
Read moreWent through the drive-through at 950 p.m. we were asked to wait in a spot for our food. We waited for 5 minutes. That's ok. After we received our food . We left. I reached in and grabbed a pretzel stick. WOW, it was the hardest piece of bread I have ever had in my life. So I drove back around, pulled up to the drive-through I honked my horn when the girl came to the window I said here eat this and handed her the pretzel. She said, "Is it hard? Let me get some more.
So she already knew those pretzels were trash. Then then after waiting, another 5 min. The manager so kindly came to the window and said here are your pretzels and proceeded to tell me basically not come 5 min before closing and expect any better and how dare I be rude to her employee. I say it is rude to serve that kind of quality food to a customer. I had to come back. Wait and wait again for the food. And the way I see it, if you wouldn't eat it, why would you serve it to your customers. They obviously knew they were nasty. As far as 5 minutes before closing...you should be prepared to serve a full menu all the way up until closing. Otherwise, why you open. If your employees can not handle an upset customer who just spent their hard earned money on trash that was uneditable and offer better customer service...then you have the wrong employee. Is this how you run your restaurant Customer is always right. Don't serve food that isn't editable You could have easily said we do not have those at the moment. Or it will take however long in the fryer would you like something else. Nope, you sent me off with trash and took my money as if it was nothing. You rip off your customers then get upset because you perceived them as...
Read moreGreat experience. This location was super busy when we went around 8:30-9pm on a Thursday night. Drive thru customers wrapped all the way around the building and out to the entrance from the main road. I'd never eaten anything other than ice cream from DQ before so I was caught off guard to witness crazy popularity of a single fast food restaurant while all the others in the area (as well as on the way there) had very few patrons, if any at all. We ordered ahead of time for curbside pickup so thankfully we were able to avoid the long line. We called to let them know we had arrived and a friendly young girl brought our order out to us and even told us everything that was in each bag to make sure nothing had been forgotten. Before even tasting the food, I could speculate that part of their popularity could be attributed to having options on their menu that offer something different than what all the other big chains are selling. The other part of their success likely comes from the quality of the food they are putting out. It tastes better. There's attention to detail. It doesn't feel like corners were cut to save time and a quick buck. That was our experience at this location, I can't speak for the other locations. I was surprised how quickly our food came out to us. I also want to note that we only saw 2 employee cars in the parking lot so I don't imagine there was very many working there but they still somehow worked like a well-oiled machine and kept up with and managed the chaos and demand of that rush of customers. Hats off to these employees. We will...
